I've made a RAW thread which is basically for discussing what happens on RAW. Every week just talk about what happened on RAW, I never actually see that much talk about each show so I've decided to make this thread. Whatever you do PLEASE don't put any spoilers in or if you really have to do it after Friday Night.

I think this seems like a good idea but if you guys don't like it just let it die, however, if this works out I'll make a smackdown thread soon enough.

My review of RAW time


Orton giving his first interview that i actually found somewhat interesting if only for the fact what he said to Flair was totally true. They're ruining Flair's legacy by making him the lap dog to HHH to suit his ego, if Flair wants one last run he really does need to ditch those two deadweights.

Tiresome Tomko botches another move, HOW THE HELL DO YOU BOTCH A SUNSET FLIP!?!?!? All you have to do is keep your head down then fall backwards when the guy jumps over you, you've got the simplest part of the bloody move for god sake. Idiot. Ruined a good match

Diva segment - was worth putting up with the two annoying idiots Trish and Christy to see Gail Kim in THAT skirt :-D

Orton v Batista the battle of the two most over-hyped wrestlers on RAW - mucho yawno.

Shelton v HHH, big nose gets disqualified as he can't bear to put the guy over again. This should be the time you start passing the torch now but i guess that's asking a bit too much eh? Thought HHH had a movie deal anyway? Go do a Rock but don't bother with the coming back appearances every few months

And now we start to see the fans don't have total control over Taboo Tuesday at all. What if i wanted to see something like HHH vs Tajiri??? Can't vote for that. Instead we get a match we've seen countless times to vote for. woo hoo


once again crap raw except for the Regal segment. Very funny

hmmm, you raise some good points. maybe i posted a little too "spur of the moment"-ly, but i stand by what i said, i was VERY impressed with his performance on RAW this week. Although you've posted about Orton as he stands now, what do you see in the future for him? sadly i feel he'll get over exposed and dry up in under 3 years :(

i see what you mean about the RKO (it's clearly not as good as my finisher ;) ), although you notice he's added the "kneel and wait" stance to the start of it to add a bit of edge and signal when he's going for it. With regard to his carrying of an opponent, he's not really HAD to so far, at least, not to my mind. Who were you thinking of that he had to carry?

Long way to go with his mic work, for me he gets himself over but doesn't really get his feuds over, which is the key to taking the next step. His in-ring work can only be described as solid at best and I've yet to see him carry a poor opponent in the way a Benoit or an Angle can. His finisher is weak and unoriginal and his natural arrogance means I for one will never feel anything for him as a face.

it's not like i posted all the results from nodq.com here on monday or anything. Raw is now on thursday nights and this is the RAW thread... it's not rocket science.

in any event, all you know is that out of a 2 hour show, there's a promo with randy/ric. hardly a spoiler is it?

simple as that.

at first i thought he was going to be a really injury-prone guy who'd never get anywhere, but this man is CLEARLY the future of the business. Having just witnessed his promo with Ric Flair, i'm convinced that he has all the potential in the world to make his career utterly stellar. His mic skills are great, he can work infront of crowds any size and stay cool, his inring work is practically faultless (minus the small quibble of the overuse of rest holds) and he has a great look.

what does everyone else think of his status, performance and where he's heading??
be good to get some different perspectives....

Indeed, although this will probably be changed and the man in question will get another match with a 'last chance' stipulation and put himself back in contention. As always happens with the WWE and their 'disposable' stipulations...
