Apparently you can join one of "The Houses" and have a stronghold/house of your own.
Any idea where and how?
The House Redoran is best for Fighter's Guild, and seeing as that's me, anyone know or done this?

I want my own house where I can hang pictures and not pick things up for days.

I've heard about getting an "official" House/Manor of your own, but I'm not sure how. Maybe once you rise to the top of one of the House Guilds you get one???

VenomByte will probably know.

I stash all interesting stuff I find and want to keep in Nerano Manor in Balmora. I just killed the pompous Nerano and his annoying slave-woman and claimed it.
The bedroom is packed with all sorts: skulls, ash statues, books, one-off weapons, unusual items, trophies of combat, etc. My very own Aladin's cave so to speak.
Well you gotta indulge a bit :)

They have an island offshore of Vvardenfell, sort of NEE.

You can get there by boat.

I've had it for a month or so and am so overwhelmed I haven't really played it.

I get the feeling I'm going to have to spend MANY hours just to get anywhere on it, and am just not ready to make that commitment.

How do you join Telvanni? As a mage, I feel it would be rather profitable for me.

From the outside looking in... this seems like the geekiest game of all time. It does sound intriguing, but still...

Yeah, being a Warrior and trying to steal sucks.

Hence why I won't join their guild :D

Just don't join Telvanni.

You can't change house once you join, and I joined Telvanni as a thief once, then discovered I couldn't do any quests or advance because my magic abilities were practically non-existent.

I haven't heard anything about getting your own house though. But as you have the PC version there are many plug-ins you could download that do give you your own little house.

I've completed the Imperial Cult quests, working my up through Fighter's Guild ones (currently doing jobs in Sadrith Mora) and have lots of stuff.
Haven't touched the Blades quests or chatted with Caesis(sp?), the half-naked old dude in Balmora yet.

This game is immense, overwhelming at times to think I havent even begun to join a House yet...

I've joined the Redoran at Ald'Rhun (sp?). The House HQ is in the big "town hall shell" at the top of the town. Once inside you leg it s**traight over the bridges without deviation and you'll come across the Redoran Manor. Joining is easy but then you'll have lots of nefarious taks to undertake in order to aquire rank. Then once you get to the top you get a lovley s**tronghold which I've not done thus far.

I'm s**till at the Lick sh*t of my boots rank.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
