Hello Bell,

Seeing as I don't want to turn a someone else's thread into a slanging match, I thought I'd start my own and repeat what I've said;

Please, give me your story on how Bush won the election fair and square, and I'll detail why I believe he is no more the legitimately elected president than you are a courageous debator who will always meet a challenge. Then we can let it drop. Feel free to start...

My word, you surprise me. And pleasantly too.

Okay, you're right, you have indeed posted enough to be getting on with. And, alas, you're going to have to wait a while until I can marshall my thoughts and post my version of events, and an attempt at debunking yours.

1) The day before the election Bush's popularity rating stood at 48%, Gore's was 41%.

2) Al Gore's campaign people and the Democrats did not want to count the ballots made by military personnel but instead wanted to read the "intent" of the ballots. Lawyers for the Democrats challenged every single vote made by military personnel in order to get as many discounted as possible. Why ? Traditionally military personnel support the Republican party and those with a strong military background like Bush.

3) In many counties "no" votes for Bush were interpreted by Democrat partisans as votes for Gore, when no indication of that was made.

4) The US Supreme Court ruled 5-4 for a stay of Ballot counting to end the practice in 3).

5) The US Supreme Court further ruled 7-2 to prevent another hand count in Florida, overturning the Florida Court ruling, and ruling that any such hand counts would be unconstitutional.

6) Gore conceeded the election, publically, stating no "electoral fraud".

7) Furthermore, the whole conspiracy theory, dreamnt up by Liberals such as yourself, Light, revolves around John Ellis. The preposterous theory is that this one man, by his reporting of the election polls, could counter the anti-Bush reporting of ABC, CNN, MSNBC, a massive democrat advertising campaign, and every democrat on the news that day. Seemingly his relation to Bush gave him god like power that day to singlehandedly counter all the anti-Bush media propoganda. Alternatively Bush one fair and square. I favour that interpretation.

8) Bush won the original Florida Count, he won three recounts, and two of those Democrat instigated recounts were in violation of the Constitution's Equal Protection Claus, and Bush won the absentee ballots count, and the media watchdogs interminable count (made over 1 year after the election), and the New York Times unique vote count, which ignored absentee ballots.

9) On election night/morning after, a typical argument is that Fox News called the election as won by Bush at 2:16am. No one mentions that CBS called 18 (!) times on it's show during the last hour of polling that all election polls were closed in Florida, WHEN THEY WERE STILL OPEN. Furthermore, CBS, a stronghold of Democrat support in the US, called Florida for Gore at 7:49PM on election day, effectively suppressing many Republican votes.

10) Voting patterns in Florida dating back to 1976 show that 2000 registered an unusual drop in republican votes, even allowing for margins of error, this study was done by John Lott, an economist. Lott further estimated that CBS and other stations false declarations on that night cost the Republicans between 10000 and 37000 votes.

11) This was further backed by an after election study by John McLaughlin & Associates, Republican voters did not turn out as heavily after tea/work because CBS And others had declared the election in Panhandle, Florida, over, Dan Rather stated; "If we say somebody's carried the state, you can take that to the bank". Dan Rather, CBS reporter and commentator.

12) Democrat Strategist Bob Peckel did his own study, and found similar, that false Democrat proclamations of victory resulted in lost republican votes.

13) John Ellis was the third person to call Bush the winner, and was 56 seconds after the other two people. Other networks declared the same in around 3-5 minutes. There was no false sense of victory created, it was a victory..

14) A key allegation is that Ellis supplied VNS data to Bush, whe nno evidence has ever been provided of this by anyone at all. In fact sharing such election data is prohibited, and evidence Ellis talked to Bush - incidentally reporters who talked to Gore were never accused of impropriety - is not evidence of sharing VNS data.

I could go on, endlessly actually, but I think this is enough to be going on with eh ?

I can't see, at this point in time, why it would matter either way.

If the people of America don't want him, they'll get their opportunity to say so soon enough.

Debating whether or not his Presidency is legitimate, regardless of whatever damage it may have done to America's international relations, will change nothing.

You seriously dont expect a reply do you? Hang on, I'll rephrase...

You dont seriously expect a clear and concise answer sticking solely to the information without "it's not worth it" "I cant be bothered" or "I know you are but what am I?" do you?

*shrugs*
1st time for everything I suppose.
