What I want is suggestions to DVD's that are not only great movies but also have great extras on the DVD.
Please really think about it and don't just name films that are fairly average and you would only really watch once.
Cheers for your suggestions.
1. Braveheart - the director commentary is very good
2. Fight Club
3. Casino
4. Platoon
5. Rocky 1 -5
6. Deer Hunter - a great film lacks extras
7. Gladiator
8. Taxi Driver
9. Goodfellas
10. Donnie Brasco
Black Hawk Down (2 Disc set)
The Rock (Criterion edition)
Seven (2 disc set)
Gladiator (2 disc set)
Star Wars Episode 1 + 2 Boxset (4 discs)
Die Hard 1 + 2 boxset (4 discs)
Men in Black (LTD edition 2 disc set)
Halloween (1978 original, 2 disc set)
Fight Club (2 disc set)
Armageddon (2 disc set)
Of course there are classic films which don't really have great DVD extras (Casino, Ronin, Goodfellas etc) and the 24 season 1 box set is another example of how thin of the extras DVD's can be. In terms of Dolby Digital Surround Sound I would have to say that the ones I listed above also excel in this area (some more than others).
There are some 4 hours of extras alone, and 4 commentaries including a cast commentary which is brilliant.
Ive watched the movie itself some 8 times. Not bad considering it is 3.5 hours long.
