Wouldn't you want to go to something like that?!?! I think I should propose that one of the theatres in Edinburgh acts out that all singing all dancing episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. You're allowed to do that as long as you pay liberties aren't you? That'd be great, hard to find someone as fit as Sarah Michelle Gellar though. Anyway this post was written on impulse and nothing will come of it but I just want to see how many people would like to see that. **Gets note pad** GO!

Yeah I know it's stryke and I know I stuck up for him just a minute or two ago but he said that it's won acclaim for having a positive lesbian relationship and not for them getting naked to attract guys, he thinks that's a terrible thing. Honestly what does he think it is a hard core sex show?

You obviously haven't seen Buffy before. The show has standards and as it is on before the watershed it obviously never goes past kissing.

It's won acclaim for having the most positive lesbian relationship on screen - one that doesn't focus on two girls getting naked to attract blokes. Shame, really.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer was a brilliant television show that will be missed. It included all the problems of an average group of young friends but it also included a darker side too. Obviously it is fiction and no one can possibly deal with Vampires etc but with a twist like that it just makes the story line more interesting.

Buffy and her friends do however deal with the problems of growing up like some people here have said. As well as dealing with many aspects of the occult she has to deal with things like relationships. Every teenager has to deal with them at some point and when she is having them with Vampires, Soldiers etc it makes it a LOT more interesting. You can see how the show grows as the cast grows too. In the beginning they are all very normal until they find out that "Everything you ever feared was under your bed but swore by the light of day that it couldn't be real IS real!" (Quote from Giles). As the years passed they even decided to write about the sexual exploration of students, thus the Willow and Tara relationship. They've even written episodes about bereavement and suicide. Believe it or not it's about so much more than just vampires, demons and the boogieman. Anyway I hope that people like Hedfix will think about what they type from now own, he clearly doesn't know what he's talking about.

Yes, meddling with the occult: every teens problem.

The gothic Beverly Hills 90210 then.

I like cult shows when they're good. X-files was good then it quickly became a 'monster of the week show'. That's the way these things go.

If your talking about development and 'issues':

This life and the sopranos kick its ass on 'issues' and DS9 kicks its ass on development.

You are correct this argument appears to end here.

I think you'll find I was 'spot on' with my take on Buffy speak.

But there are obviously more lame phrases than I could think of.

Buffy has progressed over several series, developing the characters and showing the pressures of becoming adults.

Teenage sex? Addiction? Rape? Abandonment? Marriage?

All dealt with superbly. This argument ends now, I'm fed up of people like you who have to jump on the anti-Buffy bandwagon because it's a "cult" show.

You have crap taste in TV. Every one of those shows has better writing than Buffy and tried to keep ahead of the game. Buffy is worse than any of them for churning out the same old routines.

Simpsons - Dysfunctional family. Rinse and repeat 60789349028 times. Plus it's a cartoon

Sopranos - Goodfellas and The Godfather on screen.

This Life - Never heard of it.

Family Guy - Simpsons but they ran out of yellow.

Deep Space Nine - Quick, we need to exploit sad Trekkies! And look, we have a black captain, we're rep-re-sent-at-ional. Right?"

Pick one. They are all worse than Buffy.
