Hi,
I've redesigned http://taka-q.port5.com and was wondering what you all think, and whether it works in all browsers.

Cheers for you input.

They're actually very good if you go for the paid option. Their free sevice was awesome untill too may people screwed the bandwidth by hosting forums.

Staghosting let you host forums. And it has MYSQL for free too.

*must stop advertising staghosting*

Although to be honest, I consider Portland as highly crap.

oh dear... where to start?

Why are you using the "Recycling" logo as a close button? Everyone knows what this sugnifies yet you've tried to re-invent it into something it isn't... bad idea

Your forum doesn't work, but then if you read your T&C's with Protland, your not allowed to host a forum with their free option. Doing so will result in the removal of your site from their servers.

Why pop-ups?.. Don't give me crap about scroll bars etc. Any good designer could re do that site and not need to worry about scroll bars no matter what the resolution. Also... what happens of they have JS blocked or disabled? What about pop-up blockers? And what about book-marking?

Font size... HOW BIG? I'm using 1280x1024 on a 17" TFT and that font is HUGE!! I'd hate to imagine what that looks like at 800x600

Lack of origonality... The background texture is a standard Fireworks one, Oilslick or something I think?... Brown... why? Not to mention the most horrid shade of orange I've ever had to witness online!

In all honest.. it's aweful IMHO. The cooour is wrong, the font is wrong and as for the usability... arghhhh!!

Nice try.... but I'd redo it.

Right, aside from the res and the fact that is works on all browsers from 800x600 up using the popup system anyway (I don't know why everyones complaining) what do you all think?

The hight is the thing that is a problem on a 800x600, cause I don't really like having the scroll bar on the site. Its just me being a bit perfectionist. As for 1600x1200, its alright but I have my moniter set to be a bit blurred (makes images and games look more realistic) but that means the font at that size is a bit hard to read. I spose I could un blur it.
