"My mouse keeps playing up"

Its not much but every so often (maybe only once a day) my cursor moves about 10 pixels either up or to the left, and its rather weird... anyone know whats going on?

OK... back to me and its a ball mouse... it never did this before i got windows xp...

Mine worked fine after I just plugged it in!

I installed the new drivers just in case but it literally was a plug and play..

I used PS2 too.

I was just about to do a topic about my mouse.

I got the Microsoft IntelliMouse with IntelliEye yesterday. It has an option for both USB and PS/2, so I chose the PS/2. I connected it all up, and then installed the disc. It wouldn't work. Said I should update my drivers, which I did. I downloaded the proper drivers from the Microsoft site, and went to install it. But, then I got an error message and the installation aborted. I wanna use my new mouse, as my old one sucks and has a mouse ball, where as my new one doesn't.

Any ideas?

I have that problem with my optical mouse if I use it on a dark surface.

Have you got a mouse mat?

If its a ball mouse or optical it may of died....
