There is an answer and it's called a games console. You might have heard of them. ;)
Exactly what Mrs DL said :¬D
@Machie ... thanks :¬)
Our usual trip to piano lessons and swimming starts soon. Then it's back for Merlin and a sit down, maybe with some gaming if I'm lucky.
Played BF3 last night on multiplayer. Took me a while to get used to it again, far more tactical than a lot of the games I've been playing recently and it has more emphasis on long range weapons now rather than a run-and-gun approach.
BF3 released to-day ... hype...hype...hype (Trying to be like a review person!) Anyways, as previously reported from BF3 Alpha Trial and now confirmed, EA have shot themselves in the foot yet again!
Origin (a poor Steam copy) still displays 'Origin beta' in the main window :¬(
On launch, following a 'mock-download from Origin', (infact it was from a 2 set DVD that took 45 minutes), the 'game' assume's you need 'online' status - which you already have, because you've already been nagged to sign-in or to create an 'Origin' account...
Now your PC problems begin ....
Origin/BF3 etc whatever ... needs a 'Windows 7 - developed browser' ie IE9 which isn't Vista friendly and neither is it Web-friendly at the moment!
(This is what screwed the Alpha and Beta Trials and nowhere in the recommendations does it mention 'out-dated web-browsers')
At one time, to play a video game was simple:
Disc in drive .... play game ...
then we advanced ...
Access Steam ... play game
Now, it would seem:
Download and install a useless piece of software, Origin beta.
Access said useless piece of software Origin beta, only to be told ... your browser is outdated....
Now download one that is going to screw your life but you may be able to finally play a game that you actually installed from disc anyway and, at the moment, only want to play off-line!
Please Origin beta/EA/BF3 ....where is the logic ?
I'm also really upset with DICE after MoH was so forgiving and didn't require an 'all whistles and bells web-browser'.
Nice day today, but looks like it'll be a pretty crap weekend, weather wise. Thinking of moving our trip to Crealy from Sunday to today instead.
Kids want me to put Mr Bean on their iPods now. At least it keeps them busy in the car. Quite pleased that I also managed to get Blackadder on iTunes before it went back up too.
Oh, and The Storyteller is on iTunes now at a great price (£10.99), so I got that. Anyone else remember this series?

But better than sand though ;¬)
DEAD ISLAND ROCKS
I'd suggest moving it to a more stable surface then.
Dragonlance wants to play Brink
Steam doesnt want to play Brink
I think I know which is the sane one. :D
Just for you Garin ... when does 'insanity' kick in? Or had you already assumed it had :¬D
Brink 'abilities'
And the avatar is as close to me as you can get, according to my sons :¬D
