Ah DL, I see you have dealt with their kind too!
Far too often I'm afraid, but over the years you learn little 'tricks of the trade' and play them off at their own game! However, it's got to the stage now where I quite enjoy the 'call' :¬D
Keep at 'em.
Bit of a wet one today, but then we are in November now.
Second half of this year seems to be going far too quickly. Before I turn around it'll probably be Christmas.
After a quick check on Google it would appear that I am far from being the first of this companies victims. Good thread on the thieves here We did actually have one of their broadband connections at work a couple of years ago and ending up binning them off as after 6pm it pretty much stopped working. Also I did used to have a connection at my home a few years ago with Tiscali who were also abysmal. Can't even say you only get what you pay for in this case as £56 for 14 MB of data I would have expected a bunch of bikini clad FHM girls to deliver the bill to me before I considered that value for money. Quick check on that thread would appear that getting my PAC code off them may not be as straight forward as you might expect. Still with first rate customer support members like ''John'' and ''Michael'' on the case I'm sure I have absolutely nothing to worry about.
Go for it pete ... love a bit of 'consumer interaction' :¬D
[i]Morning guys,
. Spoke to some Indian dude called ''John'' at my provider
Ell Oh Ell
Sounds nasty Pete. I've never gone over my limit, though now there's a 500MB limit imposed on my new contract I have to be careful. Most of the time I use WIFI anyway.
Not a happy bunny at the moment. I got billed £56 for going 14MB over my data allowance on my mobile. Spoke to some Indian dude called ''John'' at my provider who basically told me to read the terms and conditions of my connection. Been with them for a few years and told him that was absolutely outrageous and if they would not consider reducing it then I would leave. Again he told me that if I had read the terms of my connection that it is stated that any overuse will be charged at £4 per MB (bet Freeola would like to able to get away with charging that!). Anyway, luckily I'm not tied to a contract with them so I have just ordered a Giff Gaff sim for my (thankfully) unlocked phone. Wouldn't be so annoyed but most of this data was used sending a couple of family members a picture of a pumpkin that my daughter had decorated for Halloween. It would have been cheaper to put the damn thing in a taxi and sent it round to show them!
With Netflix coming to the UK (I hope Freeola is ready as it represent 25% of internet traffic in the States) I can imagine more and more people cutting the cable and spending that £145.50 on something else.
