I only posted the link to serve as a heads up for any Mac users on here which may have been unaware of this threat and more importantly that Apple has made a patch available to fix it.

I ran Ubuntu on my laptop for 2 years, I only took it off as like Apple operating systems it was not supported (at that time anyway) by the Eurosport player application (which I use to watch British/World Superbikes and MotoGP). Over this period I came across many Linux users who claimed that they did not bother installing any form of security on their machines as they honestly believed that they did not need to. Malware is a Windows only threat has got to be one of the biggest internet myths of all time.

Just spotted this, thought I would mention it in case there are any Mac users on here that were unaware of this issue.

This is a piece of malware which has been doing the rounds since September. It's only because someone has released their figures on potential number of infected Macs (13% or so of UK Macs) that it hit the news again.

There have been trojans in the past, but all require the user to input their admin password do do anything. This seems to be a bit different and it tricks users in to thinking its a proper update. A patch has been released on 3rd April by Apple.

Malware has, off and on, still been an issue for Mac users, though there are still no Viruses in the traditional sense. Always best to run antivirus on any computer anyway.

I've done my bit, I've mocked as many Mac owners as I can.

Evenin one and all ...

I know that this is going to 'go down like a lead balloon' but pb, why have your kids got homework time?

They are on a break ... on holiday ... not working ... taken the time off ... now having a rest ... allowed to rest for a bit ... ?

Can't they do 'homework time' next week before they go back?[/i]

If I'm not on holiday, no one else should be!!

More homework is what I say....:-)

Afternoon all.

Been busy this morning so had no time to get online, evne though I'm not at work today.

Kids have homework time in a minute, so I've got to help with that, then we might play some games for a bit if we get time or watch something.

Hi chasfh, ticket raised: 178855

I can only assume my earlier contact attempts didn't get through as this issue doesn't fit in with a 'family friendly forum'!?!

Thanks,
