Happy Birthday to the Sinclair Spectrum. 30 today.
Many happy memories and mostly responsible for my descent into gaming madness.

Thought I'd better do a proper morning post!
I like Fridays. Working from home I get to have things like toast and marmalade, crumpets and honey and other toasted products. We're not allowed a toaster at work, sadly.
Is this for real? ...
Microsoft's master plan to beat Apple and Google?
:¬)
It's a good idea in theory, but Windows Phone has a specific interface because it is a touch screen device and the other two are not unless you're lucky enough to have a touch screen monitor. Touch screen TVs are coming out (another 'next big thing') but they're not going to be in homes in the next few years.
The Xbox dashboard is a shadow of its former self after tinkering. If they're changing it for the better then I'm happy, but please MS, don't focus on entertainment first and games later, I bought an Xbox to play games, everything else is just a bonus.
It's good to see Windows Phones selling now, competition is good for business, but they still haven't really taken off as quickly as I imagined they would and Android/iOS is still the main market for many phone operating systems.
Anyone seen Cabin In The Woods? I'm hearing mixed reviews on it but I'm hoping for some old school schlocky horror, Sam Raimi style. Am I going to be disappointed?
I saw it last week and thought it was the best thing I have seen all year (although I imagine it will lose that mantle next week). It is more Evil Dead 2/Dale & Tucker than 'traditional' horror films. Although it does specifically play up to all the horror movie clichés as part of the story.
It's a difficult film to describe without completely ruining it for you, best description I heard was that the first half is a very good horror, the second half is an awesome film.
I seriously cannot recommend this film enough.
On the other hand, went to see Battleship yesterday, and it was everything I expected it to be, and then some. Dire.
Must get some hot Weetabix in. I've got that Golden Syrup one at the moment, but I wouldn't recommend it. Better just to sprinkle sugar on top.
I saw that Weetabix have a few new flavours. My daughter has been ploughing through the minis with strawberry at the moment and is rather keen on them.
Deceptively cold out there today, despite looking sunny this morning.

Also need coffee...

The SFX review made it sound good but the constant plot twists felt a bit too much by the end. Supposed to be a traditional horror but turned on its head.
It can't be too bad with Joss Whedon at the helm.
