I can only imagine how good it feels to have your first grandchild, though.
We can't do the Disneyland thing as the kids don't like people in costumes where they can't see their faces.
Oh your daughter in law is a photographer? If she doesn't have any experience with babies. We found this on pinterest. My wife made a cookie monster version.
I suppose the next one of us to become a grandfather is gonna be pb. Congratulations in advance mate.
I strongly suspect that you will get some truly fantastic pictures of your lovely granddaughter over the next few years DL :)
I think it's safe to say pete, that she will be one of the most photographed babies of all time! :¬)
pete, you had a special mention from daughter-in-law - your interest in her photography :¬)
Ha, I had forgotten that I was famous!

D..dad?
Haha ... but no. He's the dad's older brother :¬)
I've always liked Alex as a girl's name
I prefer it as a boys name. As far as girls, we seem to have settled on Olivia.
But one of my son's is called Alexander!
D..dad?
Congratulations Drags. Just a reminder that giving a baby a bad name is a form of abuse. Jet-Black and Phoenix from work would tell you that if they were able to talk. I've always liked Alex as a girl's name
Many thanks Alfonse, a reminder that I'd totally agree with but in this case it was totally out of my hands ... I can 'umm' and 'ahhh' at each suggestion but at the end of the day I can't presume to enforce any influence at all ... it is not my choice (as I have said to Mrs DL on many occasions recently). However, their choice of names today was 50% surprising, so I wasn't too unhappy :¬)
I taught for many years and did always 'wonder' at the surprising names that parents gave their offspring and whether they had given that selection any intelligent thought at all ;¬)
But one of my son's is called Alexander!
I'd forgotten how 'knackering' births are ... from both parties' point of view ... my day began with a call at 2.40 am this morning and I've now completed 6 journeys to the hospital, last one returning at 6pm this evening. My granddaughter is pure delight and worth all the time and trouble ... I would say that :¬)
Mrs DL is in 'seventh heaven' at the moment and has loads of photos for me to trawl through tomorrow ;¬)
But, during my final hospital visit to collect them all, what really hit home for me was watching my son hold his daughter in the same Maternity wing that he and his brother were born in 25 and 27 years ago respectively ... didn't the tears of joy flow then :¬)
So thank you all ... you are all brilliant ...
GDL and Mrs GDL
I'd give you love and kisses aswell, but you lot don't do that sort of thing ... do you?
