I believe it wasn't the BBC's idea to cut the Paralympic coverage. From the sounds of it, they and Channel 4 put in bids for the rights and the organisers chose Channel 4.
...to the tune of 9 million, I believe :¬)
I have three active sitebuilder places, but they do not seem to use the same sitebuilder.
If I include sites in the main menu they go away after some time if they not are based at Freeola, sometimes also they are going away.
I can have 3 sitebuilders up at once and the functions vary a bit...
Any explanation to this?
It does seem odd that BBC just cut coverage of the Paralympics after making such a song and dance of their Olympic coverage. There's no point only doing 50% of the coverage if you're going to rant about how much time and effort you've spent creating a whole bunch of new channels.
Anyway, still been raining over night here, so it's not as hot as it was, but then I seem to be mostly indoors at the moment. We did get to walk (about an hour and a half) to a small beach yesterday evening, but not to actually go and sit on the beach or anything, just to see how far it was. Bit of an effort to climb over all the rocks in the hills to get there too.
Pretty tired this morning, got back from the shops at 11.30pm last night after going to Toys R Us and that typical Spanish resturant El McDonalds (hey, it's got the Spanish colours on its logo) for my daughter's birthday.
Out to the shops here soon to get some food shopping done.
Actually, you're probably right. They give them out here like chocolate buttons at a kid's party.
Actually, I think they give them out WITH chocolate buttons at a kid's party.
I think you earn three, get your fourth one free.
And you'll have to fight the aliens for the lion!
After all the Olympic 'drivel' that's been discussed extensively on here during the last few weeks, I'd just like to say that I have been extremely humbled, but very very proud of all the athletes taking part in the Paralympics - the forgotten games!
I'm also totally shocked by the sudden lack of main stream coverage - Channel 4 and Sainsbury's good for you! But it also appears that other major sporting nations also ignore coverage ... hello USA and Canada!
No matter what the sport, these 'games' so far, have been extremely exciting and far better than the 'money-orientated' big brother! These athletes are so genuine and so determined to succeed, that defeat only makes them more determined to succeed in Rio. They are a shining example to all of us and, as such, deserve main-stream coverage!
End of 'minor rant' ;¬)
Interesting idea... clearly you've been to Essex, as you assume quite naturally that any aliens landing here would acquire an ASBO fairly rapidly.
It's not that, its just that if you want to sell any low resolution & hopelessly out of focus picture to the Daily Fail then I'm afraid some mention of an ASBO is going to be a must. If the spaceship had entered the country illegally and was uninsured or its tax disc was out of date then all the better.
As for ASBO's, if there are people of Essex who have been given them then I'm secretly rather envious as to my knowledge nobody around here has ever been issued with such a thing. I can think of a few people who thoroughly deserve one but that would require our utterly useless police force actually having to do something. Our local station was closed around 3 years ago and any serving officers were replaced with plastic 12 year olds who will only walk around our village at 10am in pairs. Our local skate park is a haven for dealing and there is a certain group who are known to be responsible for a recent spate of house burglaries & car break ins, to date they have not even had anything as harsh as community service as punishment.
Just had a great idea, any chance I could borrow your lion for the weekend? ;)

Armed with this 'proof' you could always contact the Daily Mail with an 'Aliens with asbo's abducted my lion' story :)[/i]
