Went to see The Wolf Of Wall St. today, thought it was very good. 3 hours flew by for me.

My daughter's school would make a tidy sum from this idea. I drop her off 3 days a week and see the same people being late every time. Ironically, one of the mums who always gets her daughter to school late actually used to be a teacher.

How is everyone doing today?

I feel a lot better than yesterday, I'm pleased to say, though still at home just in case. Practically had to drag my youngest out to school today, though, and ended up being 5 minutes late again.

Since schools are measured on attendance and attendance is everything from hoildays and sickness to coming in late or going to the doctors, it's pretty strictly supervised now. All schools are told to now fine parents whose children have unauthorized absences and some for re-occuring lateness,

Sounds similar to the roads I had to cross in India, sans blindfold, but equally as dangerous due to the mad Indian driving style.

Having watched the programme and viewed it with an open mind I genuinely don't get why these people are doing this. There are plenty of 'extreme' sports for adrenaline junkies where risks taken are at least calculated to some degree. Standing 200M up a crane and then jumping from one small metal beam to another or hanging one handed from it goes way beyond what I would personally class as an acceptable risk. Some of these guys were quite a bit older than I would have expected, certainly wouldn't class them as kids and one of these had witnessed a couple of his friends die doing this stuff. I found that a bit surprising TBH, also they seem to give themselves cool nicknames which they were generally known by.

So bearing this in mind I am going to invent my own 'urban sport', I shall run blindfolded across all carriageways of the M1 whilst blindfolded and shall go by the name of Asphalt Spaghetti.

Plenty of ways to get an adrenaline rush that don't involve climbing high structures in public places without safety equipment.

Whichever way you slice it, stupid...

My point wasn't that "anyone here" might consider it brave, it was simply that, as a child you have a limited understanding of responsibility. You are still learning about respect for other people's property, not putting others in danger through your own stupidity, and appropriate behaviour in public.

Clearly, they never learnt. And I'm sure they think it brave and daring, otherwise where would be the thrill?

If there had been a handy 200m tall radio tower near me as a kid, I probably would have thought about climbing it, but would undoubtedly have stopped myself as I had more sense.

It's not "brave".
"Brave" is saving someone from a burning building.

It's not "Daring".
"Daring" is wearing a dental floss bikini.

If you want to be brave or daring, get a job as a fireman or a lifeguard.

I don't think anyone here would say it was brave or daring. They're just adrenaline junkies at the end of the day who get off on climbing large structures and tight rope across buildings.

Morning.

I think a 200m radio tower is slightly more of an adrenaline rush than a tree, but it's not for me.

Isn't anything lower than 50m just classed as Free Running?

Anyway, off work ill. Managed to catch the bug going round the family. Hopefully it's only a 24 hour thing and a few lemsips will see me through. The funniest thing was that the dog came upstairs to see how I was and grumbled that I wasn't getting out of bed. I'm sure she's learning that from the wife!
