I think the difference here is more looking at rather than adding incentives to existing packages, this is saying to companies that rely on the internet to provide content: "pay us or be throttled". Whether the ISPs have a point about high-load usage on their networks is another matter, but if it's that concerning then they wouldn't be offering unlimited usage packages.

...And what, precisely, is the internet "becoming"?

I'm not entirely convinced either way with this. Don't see it as a real issue, certainly don't see any advantage, but on the whole isn't it just typical?

At one time, I got the Sky on demand extras for free because I had Sky internet services... many people pick their internet provider based on package/ extras/ freebies... Not really sure I see any difference.

It's definitely a concern. If ISPs start bidding wars over priority services, which wouldn't surprise me, then we're in for some dark days indeed.

Join LoveFilm - 2x faster than NetFlix! (for BT customers)
SkyGo - now streaming in HD for Sky Internet customers...

I don't like where this might go at all.

Financially and emotionally for Mrs DL, for me ... I've got a father who is 'active, mobile and still driving at 90' which is yet another strain ... he actually hasn't got a clue, which is a concern!

As for 'Home Help' ... it's been tried and 'sacked' off as useless .... arrive anytime between 7.30 - 10.30am for 'morning' and '5.30-8.30pm' for evening! Suppose that's ok if you want taking out of bed at 7.30am and putting to bed at 5.30pm ... but their arrival times differed daily and my mother-in-law ended up doing it all! Suppose that's love for you, but it's a sodding nightmare!

Oh well, it's Friday.

Evening pb ... and all,

Mrs DL went to the NEC today for Sewing and Crafting whatever today, so a quiet day back at the cave ;¬)

Just sorting out my tool kit for tomorrow's visit to in-laws ... drain pipe to fix and utility account to be sorted for starters. Not looking forward to it one bit as grumpy father-in-law has had another fall and is 'playing it', but so has mother-in-law ... which is not good as she is his 'carer' ... she's 86 and he's a few months short of 90!

Shouldn't say this, but I will, there comes a time when quality of life doesn't actually mean anything to some people but their existance does actually rob quality of life from another...

Evening.

Late dinner tonight as I did the shopping after school and took 2 hours to get around Tesco with the girls,

Oh well, it's Friday.

Wasn't too bad earlier, but I did get wet on the way home after getting off the bus.

Heatwave {starts running around in Hawaiian shirt and grass skirt}

Think we can safely say that:

a. the heatwave never materialised ... if ever!
b. pb's heatwave attire will be returned to storage

We've had howling wind and torrential rain today, so in future pb thermals and a wetsuit would be more appropriate for any predicted 'heatwave' :¬)
