Strange enough though, the two cards mentioned are relatively 'low' level cards.
The 7850 was actually set somewhere in the mid range on release, and the beefed up 2Gb cards are actually pretty agile. The newer 270's and 280's are "enthusiast" cards; not stupidly expensive (like the 290's and 295's) but high-end enough to cope with, say, Crysis 3 on max settings, or BF4 on Ultra.
To be honest, the mid- range kit these days is kind of the sweet spot, perfectly capable for a reasonable price. The high end cards simply come with "bragging rights".
Additionally, DX11 is far more efficient than DX9, meaning that games will run far better on a mid range DX11 card than they will on a top- flight, uber- expensive DX9 card.
Not quite sure what you mean chas?
My 9800 GTX + runs DX11?
Cards mentioned in Bethesda's specs are: "Nvidia GeForce GTX 460, AMD Radeon HD 6850!
Where did the 7850 come from?
Both are low level cards, so it begs the question ... 'why the high specs?"

But then that's why I built it!
Minimum specs from Bethesda;
◾64-bit Windows 7/Windows 8
◾Intel Core i7 or equivalent AMD
◾4 GB System RAM
◾50 GB free hard drive space
◾Nvidia GeForce GTX 460, AMD Radeon HD 6850
Not an easy one to get moving by the looks of it...
As I posted last night ...
"Not quite the full picture for PC owners. Bethesda have indicated that an i7 CPU (or AMD equivalent) is required and on further delving Windows 7 or 8!"
As I said, Bethesda haven't issued 'minimum specs' as such ....
Quote:
"The PC system requirements aren't split up into minimum and recommended specs; instead, said Bethesda on its blog, "The system requirements are based on the game being a next-gen experience running at 60 [frames per second]. These are the system requirements to deliver the PC game as it was intended to be experienced."
And as you have posted, these are the 'specs' to fit the above quote.
Certainly takes out a lot of potential gamers!

Check my post last night here.
Bethesda don't seem to have 'a minimum' spec as such, so you could use the checker at the link as such.

Sky is getting darker by the minute. I'll need to grab my raincoat from my work rucksack at this rate.
