Afternoon all ... and what a glorious afternoon its turned out to be! It'll help to dry things out ;¬)

In other news ... Mrs DL went to Sheffield to visit her mum and dad this morning only to find dad on the floor, having fallen earlier. Paramedics and an ambulance later, he's back in hospital with a broken hip! This has surely got to be the turning point and decision time!

Never rains but it pours ;¬)

Update: He's just being moved to a surgical ward ... he'll be 90 next month and hasn't been in the best of health for the last few years, so only time will tell.

Mrs DL had been and returned from the Next Sale (it did start at 5am) before we went to B&Q! It did get ... worse!

Heart surgery son was spending this weekend with his girlfriend who lives north of Nottingham. I said I would take him. So a few hours after the flood, we left.
On turn around, rang Mrs DL ... and armageddon had returned, big time and she was now on her own! Finally got to M1 Junc 26 before it hit me ... tsunami style!

40 minutes later I arrived home ... insurance job this one ... think the last one of those was 2008, so not bad :¬(

It's 'warmer' wading in the rain and water in the summer pb;¬)

Returning home from our local B&Q with son, we travelled through a horrendous thunderstorm! Alarm bells rang! As I got home, Mrs DL and a neighbour were trying to avert the flooding around our house! All's well now, but there may be more fun to come later...still very humid and building steadily.

Still, it was a good thunderstorm at 3am...

@Freeola
FYI The Service Status page has been ALL RED this afternoon?
Got me worried earlier - but I'm guessing someone's just got fat fingers :¬)

EDIT: It's been changed now, just in case someone should wonder what I'm on about...

In other news.
I wish I could could bottle this heat to use later in the year...!

Yesterday they promised the hottest day so far for today. Today? It's overcast, occasionally raining and just plain muggy.

Not good birthday weather, really.

Really bad, about 4 o'clock this morning.

Our forecast suggests tomorrow will be 'wet' for most of the day. No doubt it will be, as daughter-in-law has got a wedding to photograph!
