Hi DL! It's been a time then - 3 year old granddaughter? Must have been a good three years since I last posted here properly! Congrats!

Warning...understandable bad language in the following youtube link...apologies in advance
Close call on day 1
On the first day of the chase, we were nearly struck by lightning - a stepped leader struck less than 10 metres to the left of the shot - and slightly behind us. It's the first time I have head something before seeing it. It was loud.

Enjoying the Canadian, TX, Tornado
Took a long time chasing to see a tornado (about 7 days of different storms). Finally got to see this EF3. A 17 minute compilation video can also be seen on youtube here. All good if you have nothing better planned this afternoon. Again...apologies for any bad language. I've tried editing it out... all my team...not me! Promise!

I was following these with interest as you posted them on Facebook. Impressive.

Windows 10 finally installed ... download and installation about 1hr.

Initially it didn't recognise my GTX 970 even though it updated yesterday. Soon sorted though. Just need to find my desktop background and job sorted :¬)

She's a perfect delight :¬) Looked after her for 4 days a week from the age of 6 months, now it's only Tuesday and Wednesday each week. It's hard to imagine that she'll be starting school next year!

Will enjoy looking at your links later :¬)

Got it sorted using the link DL supplied. Only issue from that point was the install telling me it was taking longer than normal.

Used pb's link and decided to select the 'Upgrade this PC' option. All seems to be going ok at the moment. May do the USB option later and use it for the other machines.

Hello! I'm just passing! Thought I'd pop by and say hi!
May get back into the swing of posting now I have more time on my hands.

Quick update from my last proper visit:
1) Now fully qualified as an optometrist and have spent the last year as a self-employed locum
2) Saw my first tornado whilst storm chasing in tornado alley in May this year. I'm off chasing storms next year too!
3) Finally living alone in a 2 bed flat in a bit of a run down area of Bristol, but hey...it's easy to start saving for a deposit
4) I actually can't really remember how long it was since I posted here as to what I can update you with

P.S. Remember the 70k Gamerscore challenge...you know...reaching 70k before I went to uni in 2010...It only just got beat... 5 years later than planned ;)

How is everyone doing?

Thought I should get round to Windows 10 and join the party; same issues as DL.

Hi dav ... pb has probably mentioned the 'working solution', it's certainly one that I'll try now, after all the 'fa*ting' about and when I finally get the big OK from big MS!

Still no nearer to Nirvana 10 than I was yesterday, but today I received an email from Nirvana 10 on both a desktop and a laptop!

"You’ve already reserved, so your free upgrade is on the way. This is the largest software upgrade event ever and we’re managing it so everyone has a great experience.

Your notification to upgrade could come as soon as a few days or in a few weeks.

In the meantime, you can always check your upgrade status in the Get Nirvana 10 app. Find the app by clicking on the Windows icon on your task bar. "

Now isn't that vaguely helpful!

Don't need to wait for anything from MS to download and install Windows 10 that way, that's the good thing about it. You just do it. All you need to do is make a note of your current Windows product key, just in case it asks for it (both of the ones I've done haven't asked)

odd, all the problems...

Tablet just upgraded, that's 3 out of 4 successful, desktop to do tomorrow.

3 totally different systems too, so not even any similarities. Am I just lucky?
