Morning,

At least I think it is. The sun has refused to believe that it's morning, by the look of it.

Ah Sunday.

Had our usual Paella today and treated ourselves to Sangria (£2.99 in Tesco, fact fans) followed by Vienetta.

... and I painted another door!

I also did some more gardening and some more ironing and fixed another laptop and cooked my 30 yr old son's lunch and then I made my own tea and had a glass of a rather nice South African Red! Just need to wash up now, before Mrs DL returns from usual Sunday visit to her mum in Sheffield!

Exactly pb ... everyday is my 'Sunday' ;¬)

Busy much? I did do some work today, measuring out the outside edge of the patio to work out what to fill it with, taking the kids to church, walking of dogs. Nothing like the stuff you've had to do, of course. Just usual parent stuff!

Strangely enough I don't remember where I was at the time, despite it being the biggest incident in Scotland in my lifetime. I was 14 at the time and remember seeing the news coverage but nothing about when I first heard about it. Saw images of it a few weeks ago in a museum in Glasgow and the horror of what I was looking at hasn't lessened over time.

General tone fits the weather here today. Daughter's tennis lesson still on so far but not sure why.

I guess a bit like Freddie Mercury's death, which was a shock even though the newspapers had already torn him to bits over his health. Although at least he had time to issue a statement about it, knowing that he was about to die. Despite dying over 20 years ago, not many have really got close to his singing talent since.

We're a morbid lot at the moment, aren't we?

On a brighter note, weather looks pretty good here after last night's rain. Unfortunately, I'm going to be pretty busy for the rest of the day.

The big one in Scotland which I will never forget is the Dunblane massacre. I was working in the off license that day and despite having the radio on, I found out about it when a customer brought in a special edition newspaper that was publushed to cover it when the news broke.

I was also in the same pkace of work when Kurt Cobain shot himself. Not quite a Kennedy moment and despite not being a fan, it still seems to be a'remember where you were' moment for me somehow.
