31 years ago today ... we became Mr and Mrs DL :¬)

It was a very cold Thursday in Sheffield at 11.40 am way back then and I had actually met Steve Davis in the hotel lift the evening before! Memories ....

Nowt wrong with that my friend...

Slightly different, but I've always said (and probably always will!) that I'd rather have an old Mk1 Escort or Consul Capri than any modern car. Built like tanks, no power steering, manual choke, mechanical carbs, no fuel management or fancy electronics, just... simple.

I had a Mk1 Sport, and it was my pride and joy until it got nicked...[/i]

Isn't that always the case ... :¬(

But I loved my bikes and 'the freedom' I had when out riding. The only reason why I drove a car was because I was continually hit by cars ... never my fault just 'di*kheads' not accepting bikes are on the road! Two hospital vacations and I called it a day ... but I now miss the 'cruising'! ;¬)

Nice....

That's more my taste, but my boy's 25 now and he's got a Suzuki SV650s, the 2007 model so it's nice and "chunky" for want of a better word.

Full fairing, all in metallic black. And it's immaculate! It's had more polish than any vehicle I've ever known...

Nice DL, looks fun!

Yep Chas, that's 'the look' (wasn't that a song?!!). I reckon any blokes in relationships know exactly what we're talking about!

What type of bike are you getting DL?

I'm still not allowed one :( Any mention and I get 'the look'...

Haha :¬)

Well it's a long story pete but I'll keep it shortish!

I've ridden bikes since 1978, first one was...

Tiger Cub but it died and then I had ...

Tiger 90 but it was old ... then

Honda CB 175 Benly ... not for long ... then ...

Honda CB200 ... and then ...

Superdream ... ... what a lovely bike! And then ..

CB400F ... another lovely bike!

I miss them all, but time moves on and suddenly my youngest son, granddaughter's dad, decides he wants a bike. He's 28 and is now taking driving lessons and doing extremely well. However, a driving test has at least a 10 week waiting list and as he's getting brassed off with cycling 12 miles to work (there is no bus service) and as dad has had bikes, he wants one:¬)

So dad has a look and visits an old friend ... and I bought it for him, but TBH I think I might now order one for myself ... can't get 'Born to be Wild' out of my head at the moment ;¬)

This is the one ... old school ...

Vixen

Enjoy ;¬)

By "the look" I assume you mean the one where the wife frowns, smirks, rolls her head to one side and makes a sound like Marge Simpson?

I get that a lot...
