Maybe it's my age or maybe it's just that you have to listen to the lyrics ... and maybe that's my age and my memories.
A brilliant band ... Take it Easy man ;¬)[/i]
I'm with you, DL...
Considering members of the Eagles "infiltrated" just about every musical outlet going, it's pretty rare that you'd find someone who doesn't have a favourite that's linked in some way to them.
Glenn Frey for example did music for such wonders of the cinema as Beverley Hills Cop.
His pal, Danny Elfman, is responsible for The Simpsons and pretty much every Tim Burton film apart from countless others.
In fact, I think pretty much each and every long term member of the Eagles has had a solo career also, and each and every one has written, produced, co-starred with countless other big names.
Just another example of what I consider the True Greats.[/i]
I'm not sure if I'm speaking in English any more or not!!
Just because I don't like The Eagles music (as in 'I don't like to sit down and listen to their music by choice') doesn't mean I don't appreciate what influence they've had on music. Sheesh.
I don't really like most of Elvis' music either but he's had a big influence on many artists and bands.

It's a personal thing, like all music, especially songs with strong lyrics. Just like a favourite poem or book will mean far more to some and nothing to others.

I saw that. Wasn't in to their music, other than the obvious, but certainly an influential band.
Surprised pb but then again
... I'm Taking it Easy ...
Then there was Joe Walsh ... Rocky Mountain Way...
pb ... there are too many Glenn Frey/ Eagles's hits to list here ... influential or not, but a brilliant musician and band ...
So I have ...a Peaceful Easy Feeling ... ....
that is a ... Tequila Sunrise ... ....
