No need to be Flash pb ;¬)
Look, Don't stop me now, because I'm just trying to play the game .
Weirdly, he also had the Clockwork Orange soundtrack and Wings Venus and Mars and Band On The Run (which I still love).
I'm with pb. I too appreciate the influence that many of these 'greats' have had on today's music although there aren't all that many who's work I personally care too much for. The notable exception being Queen, they're probably the one act who have crossed over to fans of pretty much all genres. They were a great band and one who's work has stood the test of time.
Probably helps that Freddie's vocal range was a whole octave wider than any other singer before him or since (classical, operatic, popular or otherwise; proven fact, as it goes).
It's exactly why no other artist, no matter how good, should ever, EVER attempt to cover a Queen song.
Fair enough, I'll blame DL for that. ;)
Sorry about that pb ... but that's me ... Take it to the Limit ;¬)
I'm not sure if I'm speaking in English any more or not!!
Calm down, before you bust a blood vessel (another blast from the past!)...
I wasn't "arguing" with you, just pointing out that, whether you are aware of it or not, you probably have a favourite tune/ piece of music/ song somewhere that is in some fashion connected to or the product OF a member of the Eagles.
This statement pretty much applies to anyone, not just people of "a certain age".

The same goes for a lot of blues artists and even classical musicians, too. Surprising how many (good) metal singers are classically trained and influenced by the classics.
