Yeah, I can get a free month if I send you a referral e-mail at some point and you sign up via that. But, in all fairness, it's much more important that you join the service that will be best for you than me getting a month free (although that would be nice, I have had 3 friends all sign up via my suggestion, but not through a referral.)

Looking at the reviews for game rentals through LoveFilm, it would appear that if you had a combined package, receiving DVDs and Blu-Rays are much more likely that games because of the films being more readily available.

I think the way i am, i should sign up for one but where i can only have one game at a time, as if i could have 2 i would never complete anything and always play the first few hours then move on.

If i join Boomerang you get a free month Highflyer i think.

Also, the type of selection you use on Boomerang does definately determine what sort of number of priority you get. Using the balanced option, I've generally received games in the top 6 places, with one exception (Prototype, after a day delay, assuming waiting for a higher priority game to come in.) Whilst I was on the "fast" option, I had no delays between receiving and sending out games, but didn't receive anything above priority 13.

Also, due to the available "Priority" package, it's probably more difficult on the other packages to get newer games. I'll just point that one out.

That's not bad. I'll try the trial out to see what their service is like.

Well, if you were expecting to get through two games a month, then the package for that is £7.99 anyway, so even better value (unless of course you wanted the two at the same time, then that would be £12, and you'd be able to swap them if you wanted.)

As for other games sites, there are a couple, but I don't have any experience with them myself, so I can't comment, but a quick google generally finds reviews of them.

I have looked into it before but never got around to signing up, for one reason or another, Boomerang seems to be a rather good option though as it was the one I was looking as using.

I may consider joing that one to be fair.

If you Pay £12 a month and went through two games, then that works out a very good price per game. Games like MW2 or GT5 etc are ones you would still buy as you would want to keep them.

I never thought too much about these kind of sites, but might have a look into it, does anyone know of any others that are safe / reliable?

Morning all. I think i'm going to be fairly inactive this week (even if I am one of the lesser active members on this forum anyway, but I digress) as the week ahead is expected to be an extremely fun one, with a lab report hand-in deadline in 5 hours, an exam tomorrow and another on friday. So, very busy.

On the subject of game rentals (which was a thread I planned on starting a while back but since the discussion has started here i'll chip in here instead). I currently use Boomerang Game Rentals, it's pretty good and has quite a few options (ranging from 1 game a month to 4 games at a time, unlimited a month [albeit for long-standing customers only, and quite expensive], and a 21 day free-trial. Not sure about it's game selection, but if anyone wants to have a nose, it's here.
