I find turning up with a second ice cream and going " you know what, I really don't want this, do you want it?" works too...

Now that sounds like a plan.

Running? What is this "running" thing you keep talking about? Is it a new game?

I thought about the whole "keep fit" thing, thought about it long and hard. Considered my options, then considered the fact that I'd probably end up spending a lot of my time (and probably money!) on it, apart from having to give up a lot of the foods and things I love, and in the end I decided that the way forward was to give up just one thing.

I gave up worrying about it. Worked a treat.

I've just finished my ice cream. I only opened it to have a quick mouthful, I'm in big trouble when school is out.

Quick, work on your "Ice cream? What ice cream?" face!

No doubt I could use the same. Thought to try doing some exercise over the week I have off next week. Let's see how that goes!

I've bolted a little extra onto my 'lap' much to the displeasure of my body. At some point it is meant to get easier but I'm starting to think that point was many years ago.

Still, I rewarded myself with Ben & Jerry's ice cream later. That might be part of the reason why I've been forced to go running in the first place though.

Morning,

nice day here too so I guess that means another little run at lunchtime.

It has been pointed out to me that I enjoy too many treats, don't do any exercise and I'm not getting any younger so I have started doing a little run 2-3 times a week during my lunchbreak. An effort to raise my fitness levels slightly above 'chronically unfit' and keep those making the nasty comments quiet.

My daughter also wants to take up running so she has come out with me a couple of times. Apparently I'm too slow for her. She also finds it hard to believe I used to be rather fit. To be fair, so do I now.

Morning.

Usual story: looking nice outside - me: trapped indoors.

(or Ulysses Grant if you want to be historically accurate)

Ok if you've an iphone ... not quite what we had in mind! Wouldn't touch 'em with a barge pole :¬) Doubt Mrs DL would know what you're on about ... she's into boring stuff, like decorating rooms and changing stuff within the homestead and cleaning out gutters! Just bought her some ladders ... not seen her use them yet!

Morning all.

You're right DL. DIY. DIY never changes, as Ron Perlman might say. (or Ulysses Grant if you want to be historically accurate)
