Yeah, up here in the North East it's always cold. I have my first ever job interview on Friday morning, and i'm not looking forward to it to be quite honest.

Football: What amused me last night was the BetFair advert during the middle of the game, which is generally a fairly realistic and normal bet, being Inter to win 7-0, at 12-1. Obviously you can't discount a Harry Redknapp team-talk, or a young player wanting to further make his mark on the game, and even more so in Europe.

I thought owning was a coat was against the rules of living up there?

Everybody should watch every Tottenham game, I've been saying that for years! Seriously though, we are probably one of the most attacking sides in the league right now, you are always likely to see a goal or 5 when Spurs play. Doesn't do my nerves any good though!

I moved to the North East without even owning a coat. I soon fixed that oversight!

Football : I am now going to go out of my way to watch as many Tottenham games as possible this season. All I can say about last night is WOW!

I really need to change my coat over as the mornings get colder. I should also get my gloves out but then I can't use my phone. Decisions, decisions :)

It now seems compulsory to have a football element to the bottom of each post ;)

compulsory football element
er...is Rooney that much of a hot property that other big clubs would be fighting over him? Why is there so much fuss over one older player when clubs should really be focusing on new and up-and-coming players that cost a lot less, have less attitude and more potential if given the right training?

Morning,

big crash on the way to work today. 3 police cars and 2 fire engines passed me while I was in the queue so decided to take the scenic route instead of waiting.

Spurs do seem to be involved in the more eventful CL games this season. Delighted to see Rangers take a point against Valencia although by all accounts they should have won it... still, I'd have taken a point before the game so I won't be greedy now.

All my gloating yesterday about having no frost on my car came back to bite me on the a**e this morning as I had to scrape frost from my windscreen :(

Although we have a lot of non-football fans in this thread I have to mention the game last night, at half-time I was completely despondent but, by the end, I was actually pretty happy. I was never expecting Spurs to get anything out of the Milan game but to perform like that in the second half with 10 men was amazing. The only downside is that we have to pick ourselves up for a Saturday lunchtime game!

Morning all. Full full day today. Also have a cold and it's a clinic session. And one of the lectures is in a room they must starve of oxygen - everyone falls asleep in it!

Off home on Friday night, so I am quite looking forward to a weekend in my own bed!

Morning all.

Huge amount of ground fog on the hills today, spooky looking.

Wish I was working from home really, too cold and dark to be out.

'Twas cold here, too, with frost on the windscreen. I hope it doesn't get as bad as it did last year. We moved to the North East in December, and 2 days later it snowed so much that we were literally stuck in the village. Not so great when you don't have a phone line or internet connection, and 1 of the 2 local shops is closed because staff couldn't get in to work!

No idea if my car was iced or not this morning as I slept in, by the time I looked outside the sun was shining.

Our leaves are already autumnal. The estate is littered with old leaves whose skittering in the breeze fightened the puppy to death :)
