Hah, they got it from us. The UK used to use that format and we brought it over to the US then changed to the European method of writing dates that we have now.

If you missed the original, go and watch the original instead of what is a redundant and, yes, dumbed down remake. The only thing this remake adds is the stuff the original was improved by not including. It's a shot for shot remake without the ambiguity and subtext that made Let The Right One In work and without that ambiguity, the story essentially portrays Abby as little more than a parasite. Toothless, pointless and ugly in comparison.

Disagree completely mate, think the review on Total Film sums it up pretty well.Interesting to see 2 completely differing views from people who like the original though (seen it twice).I did not think it portrayed Abbey as little more than a parasite but I suppose that's just my opinion ?.I usually despise US remakes, thought Quarantine was garbage and The Ring was little more than a pale copy of it predecessor IMO.But I thought Let Me In recreated most of the look and feel of its predecessor and thought the lead cast were both very good in it.Suppose it's one people will have to watch and make their own minds up on ?.

Went to see Let Me In on Saturday night, thought it was very good. It's similar to the Swedish original in some ways and different in others. It's certainly one of the best Hollywood remakes in years and thankfully it has not been dumbed down for the multiplex masses. Both leads are very good in it and it is quite a bit bloodier than the original but it still maintains the subdued pace and low budget look and feel of its predecessor. If you fancy it then it's worth a watch IMO,especially if you missed the original version.

Nope. I have no problem with the event itself, Irish or otherwise, but I dislike the fact that a holiday that is so huge in the States is starting to become big over here due to their influence.

Starting to? It's no different here than it was 20 years ago

Surely you meant Celticisation? Samhein is an Irish tradition which became Halloween and then was brought to America with the Irish immigrants.

The only thing I don't like about the modern version is when people don't dress up as anything scary, which is the whole point of the thing. Luckily all the costumes around our area for all the trick or treaters were 100% ghoulish.

I think the Spurs fans on this forum might have something to say about todays game.

Nothing to say about it. I vented my frustration to everybody who would listen on Saturday night, now I'm going to sulk in a corner until tomorrow night :(

Morning/Afternoon everyone,

Went to see Saw3D over the weekend, it was ok and took my mind of other matters (see above). No trick or treaters round my way last night, which is a good thing in my opinion, as I dislike the whole Americanisation of this country (proms being another example).

Only 4 days until Football Manager is released, seriously can't wait!

Morning,

still trying to recover after taking my daughter to a birthday party at the weekend. It was at a big soft play area and I was dragged in... it was like a war zone in there. I got barged out of the way by young nippers who could squeeze through the gaps quicker than me, there were kids leaping about all over the place, including almost landing on my head as I climbed up one section and plastic balls were being propelled with considerable force from all directions.
