RE: TV
Some people like Strictly or X-Factor because they find it entertaining. The fact that most of the acts on either show are talentless in some way just improves the entertainment value.
There's a little button that changes the channel and another that turns the TV off, I think you'll find it on your remote control...
The main issue with ITVs programming is the endless 'soft' shows labelled as Drama which are actually the same stories recycled over and over about locum doctors, rural police, country murders etc.
Talent shows are ok if they plug a gap rather than fill up the schedule, the same with these so called Drama series. A good mix and some intelligently written TV is what you need. Channel 4 and BBC3/4 come up with some good ideas and there have been some great fresh ideas on over the last year.
However, there's also a slight 'rose-tinted' effect in play here. In the 80's it was too much family entertainment in the form of Variety Shows and sketch shows, in the early part of this decade it was reality shows. There will always be a lot of TV programming that caters for the crowds at the cheapest possible price. It actually helps pay for the decent stuff in the end.
Hardly watch any TV these days, think its terrible.Thought most people would be fed up with the likes of X-Factor,Apprentice and the dancing thing by now but I suppose not ?]
It doesn't help when BBC3 are giving regular X-Factor updates on their news programme.
"I watch the BBC to get away from this crap It's not news! IT'S NOT EVEN ON YOUR CHANNEL!"
Maybe now they can get back to making programmes that aren't specifically aimed at morons.
Unfortunately morons are the ones that mainly watch these programmes and spend their hard-earned dole money calling the premium numbers and buying associated merchandise.
Until they stop doing that, I highly doubt anything will change.

I am partial to a bit of Judge Judy though ! :)
And Primeval.

@Pete - Was tempted to get Black Ops as my win for the other week. Wonder if GAME are still doing the pre-order packs?
I've got a pre-order pack, should be getting a second as I've ordered another copy for a present.Even though I ordered them a few weeks ago I've only had one shipping confirmation mail so far ?.
They seem to have removed them from the GAME website, think they were limited to 1000 pieces or something ?.I'm not really bothered about the packs TBH,will send you one if you want.
