Wow. A William Hill shop I've been using for ages just refused to let me in if I didn't give them ID (Id left my wallet in the car).

I wont tell you how old I am, but let's just say I'm much older than 21 and even have a full facial beard! I told them I'd be spending my money at Ladrbrokes instead. Idiots.

With Sony now saying the Card details ARE encrypted and the security form they've employed now saying even user details weren't taken it looks better than yesterday. Of course, none of this will make the news on those sensationalist sources.

If that happens, perhaps Sony will learn a lesson and become better communicators and not sit on things for days! :¬P

Some people can still remember Sony's CD rootkit scandal...

I love how the Anti-Gaming brigade will llikely turn this serious hacking story into another witch-hunt-erific peice of human stupidity. People only want to know whats happening and if their details are safe - none of the socio-political claptrap.

This kind of thing is getting all too common recently.First Lush.co.uk,then Play.com,now PSN.I reckon we are at some kind of risk from anyone who holds our details electronically.Sadly that means most of the companies we deal with on a day to day basis.

Anyway,I'm sure the guys at Lik-Sang are laughing their asses off over this.

Sadly people (me included) have a nasty habit of reusing passwords.[/i]

That's sadly the same for me. Oh great :P

Evenin Garin.....how's you :¬)

Perhaps this snippet of useful advice from MS will help improve people's passwords and eliminate the need for 'hundreds and thousands', except to add that a few different ones can't be that bad :¬)

MS Password Checker

EDIT:

This just passed the Checker as 'best' ... anything like yours?

You can worry if you like. :) Obviously you have no credit card details on there to be stolen, but presumably your account contains personal information. I think the immediate concern for most people is whether the email + password (and security questions) they used for that account are in use elsewhere. Sadly people (me included) have a nasty habit of reusing passwords. Longer term, identity theft might be a problem given these accounts contain alot of personal information.
