off to Devon again next week, could certainly do with the break from work.
At the park with the girls. Passport came this morning, so I can finally book flights for everyone and sort out my own travel for India. Left it late for jabs, though, so might not get the Hep B jab (which cost £100 and can only be paid cash or cheque (like going back in time).
pete, where about are you seated?
I'm block 115.
I was right on the edge of 114, where it joins 115 about half way up.
Thought Iron Maiden were awesome last night, best I've seen them in a long time. It was a good mixed up set of old and new stuff, there seemed to be something in the show for everyone. Did laugh at the smoke effects during Number Of The Beast though, it was just some dudes back stage letting off C02 fire extinguishers. It would appear that not even the mighty Maiden can totally escape the credit crunch! Thought Airbourne were dreadful, just seemed like an AC/DC tribute act to me (and I'm not a fan of those) and I couldn't make out a word their lead singer said. Some people by me seemed to be quite enjoying them so each to their own I suppose. What did you reckon to the evening Chris?
Mrs DL returned home yesterday with a 'loan' phone - one Happy Bunny! Carphone Warehouse, no problems - Blackberry totally knackered and returned for investigation/repair/whatever - it seems to be a recurring fault with Blackberrys at present! We shall now wait and see what the verdict/outcome is :¬)
I'm block 115.
Maiden gig tonight, well looking forward to that.
Cya there pete!
Yeh, Blackberry arrived this morning. Haven't even had the dispatch email through yet! Was very fast with delivery. I only want one for social networking and to keep in contact with friends, all of whom have blackberrys. Plus there's enough texts/minutes for emergencies/non-blackberry people :P
I'm very happy with it. Will last for at least 2 years.
busy day ahead and I'm knackered. I'm just waiting on round 2 of my battle with one of our Support guys to kick off. He didn't seem to appreciate the software is working as he asked. I submitted my evidence last night and he is being quiet so far, very unlike him.
On the subject of mobiles, I've been using a Sony Ericsson for almost 2 years now. It's had a smashed screen for most of that time but it has served me well. I'm due an upgrade in a couple of months and it is time I had internet allowance on my contract. I can get more for my money on other networks but I am limited with a poor reception at work from most other networks... still, Vodafone don't need to know that so there shall be some negotiating.
This is what happens with franchised stores and large call centers, you never know what type of service you're going to get.
My local Carphone warehouse in Exeter is friendly enough and I got my iPhone there. Should be looking to renew when the time comes as well.
Another busy day for me today, trying to get as much done as possible today as I'm off tomorrow.
My Mrs. had problems with Carphone Warehouse, said their after sales customer service was pretty much non existent. That was until she threatened to cancel their direct debit before inserting her malfunctioning handset somewhere the assistant would have had problems removing it from!
TBH pete, I know what you are saying .... and if that was the case here, then I would be the one taking it back! But both of our local shops are really helpful and do spend a lot of time helping you out :¬)
(But then again, so they should!!)
Nice to see you back around these parts Jubba, you OK mate?

Think I'm going to go for the Sony Ericsson X10 Mini Pro (the one with the slide out keypad), had a go of one and quite liked it and it fits easily enough in my pocket, something quite a few larger touch screen phones did not. My friend informs me that it's a girls phone but I don't really care TBH, although the model with the pink buttons does look pretty camp so don't think I'll go for that. Anyone know anything about these?
