The Americans just pulled down the statue of Saddam in Baghdad with the blessing of the Iraqi people.
Quite extraordinary. The Iraqis started it, hitting it with sledgehammers, then the Americans came and pulled it down with an armoured veichle. and hung the old Iraqi flag on it.
When it was down the Iraqis lobbed rocks and boxes and things at it and were chanting "death to Saddam".
Interesting events...
Hey Azul, who’s been saying

Sky News first, then CNN, EuroNews, Fox News.
But they are unconfirmed reports at the moment.
It's also been proven that the Iraqi army were given Nightvision equipment by the Russians.

But in this case, it's true.
As soon as it was masked over the statues face, the crowd erupted into jubilent cheers.
> Oh great.

I’m not one fore going on rumours, but that could explain why they didn’t get involved in the first place. Hey Azul, who’s been saying these rumours then?

Possibly three if you're talking in third person.

A hundred years on, they'll proabably say that the Iraqis loved the sight of the flag on the statue. They like to manipulate stories, you see.
There's two sides to every story.
Rumours are going about now that the Russians are either helping Saddam escape, or, they are protecting him in the Russian Embassy.

And yeah, I saw all that on Sky News live. Great stuff. They had a rope noose around his neck, but that was more of an Islamic symbol, rather than to actually bring it down.
Later on, a guy was sitting on the sawn off head of the statue as it was dragged down the street by chains strapped to it, as if it were a sledge.
Apparently, the American flag being assembled over the face was for a photo only, as was the Iraqi flag. A sort of historial moment photo, to go down in history.
