I've been using Freeola Broadband for a good few weeks now, and have a query with regards to the download speed it gives me.
Obviously Broadband is "supposed" to be 512k right? I've NEVER seen my downloads go at a better rate than around 12 - 20k. Is that normal?
I realise that it's dependent on how busy the service is, but i'm serious that i've NEVER found it to run any quicker. Downloading email attachments, watching film trailers, etc etc. On each occasion it shows as downloading at around 12-20k.
I'm hoping that there's something I can do to increase this speed because I must say i'm EXTREMELY dissapointed if this is the standard connection speed.
Cheers,
I know they're around somewhere, I seen them before, but this time I used DrTCP
Find it at the following URL [Run the test first and it will give you a link]

> Your pc needs to have at least 1ghz for it to be at full speed....
Where did you hear that?
> Changed MTU to 1430 and RWIN to 13900
Where are all these settings located, may I ask??? I can't seem tolocate them.
Cheers :)
Downloaded Turbonutters link again, steady at 55kb/s whereas before it was only 19kb/s
The Pipex speed test now tells me I have (on average from a few tests) around 450k throughput - before it was 220
That ADSL speed tester that Mr No Name recommended tells me my ADSl now pings 'excellently' on UK and overseas servers, and my download speeds are on average 60kb/s
That app is also very good, as it told me my Pipex web cache wasn't performing as well as the alternative cache, so I changed my proxy settings and even web pages load faster now :D
Very sweet all round :D

you will probably be prompted to download a newer version when you first run it but it only takes a second.
Found it quite consistant. Got 30/31kbs from NTL 128k line and upto 73kbs from NTL 600k line.
