Of course you do. It's something anybody can do. Look at how my writing style has come along as I've written stories over the last 6 months or so.
To start with, I couldn't write out a five line conversation between two people without having to re-write things time and again to get it looking right. Now it just flows.
As you write, the talent will develop itself. So too will your vocabulary as you seek to avoid using the same words too often. Intelect? You don't need to be clever to write a story, all you need is an imagination.

I know why you say that, and that is exactly the sort of thing I mean.
People used to be allowed to be themselves here. Its rreally not like that anymore. I see people being judged at every turn and I don't like it.
