Im thinking of importing a PSP from the usa, has anyone that imported had any problems with dead pixels? I was reading on some usa sites and most of the people on there had dead pixels.

Ordinarily you wouldn't notice a dead pixel when the screen is black - it has to be 'on' (i.e. displaying a colour) to be noticed.

I think mine has a few dead pixels. Im not too sure though, I only notice them when the screen turns black.

If they are dead pixels im not too bothered as they are very very small.

Of course most of them had dead pixels, otherwise they wouldn't be posting. Think of the thousands/millions without dead pixels!

But for the sake of another 3 weeks, you may as well wait for the official UK release and pre-order. At least then you know you've only got to return it to the shop to get it replaced.

For what it's worth, I bought a Sony Clie (PDA) some time ago. At the time, I was reading a lot of talk on the net about dead pixels on the screen of that device. I bought it anyway, and the screen is fine - bright, clear, and not a dead pixel in sight.

The problems seem like they're very common, but that's because people only post about the bad things. If everyone who didn't have a problem also posted, you'd realise how relatively small the 'problem' is.

But as I said - if you want to be safe, wait for the official release and buy locally. Apart from anything else, Sony will not honour any warranty on an imported machine, so any problem will mean sending it back overseas.
