The Playstation has there sequal to there console which has sold more than any other, Nintendo are going to show everyone how to do a good handheld as well as create more of the greatest games in the world while Microsoft prepares to beat all opposition in the gaming industry...

WHO WILL WIN

After the popularity of the playstation there is no reason why the public wont go for playstation again but are they fed up of seeing the same old games? Do Sony have the innovations to keep them afloat? So far so good although sales haven't been stunning but the orders are now all over the world starting to pick up and their sequals are all amazing.

Nintendo are back and after the late success of the 64 it looks as if their success could continue on the Gamecube. At the moment in Japan the Gameboy Colour is number 1 ahead of PS2 so the Gameboy advanced will surly smash sales records again. But can Nintendo keep inovating? Can they keep their slightly more adult image on the Gamecube? Yet just remmember the Gamecube is the only actual game console not a multimedia console .

The X box, Microsofts new wonder machine could flop like the Philips CDI or hit the top like the playstation im betting on the latter but... Can Microsoft sell cheap? Can they make games? Are they just creating a new PC? we will have to wait!

So Who will win what do you think?

It feels like I've commented on all this numerous times before, but ah well...

Sega isn't in trouble, people. Their console may lose to the PS2, but now they're producing games for it and the X-Box. They're going multi-platform, and they'll likely make quite a bit of money for it.

And the comment that Microsoft doesn't have experience in this medium is naive: If you haven't noticed, Gates'll BUY the experience he needs to make good games. There's no doubt there, he'll find the talent. But will he win the console wars? Hell no, not with the X-Box being forced to compete with PCs, which is exactly what's going to happen. I don't plan on buying one because many of its games, especially the major ones like Halo, are being ported for PCs. No console should EVER attempt to take on PCs.

Sony will continue to do well. Case closed. Anyone who doubts that is delirious. And they're nowhere near releasing the PS3, people. It's been mentioned that it's in development, but come on...that's nothing new. The PS2 went into development as soon as the PS1 was released. It takes time to design consoles, at least if you plan on doing anything with it.

Tell you what, though, Nintendo may not win the war, but it'll definitely do well in it. The Gamecube's price will be the determining factor, especially with the sort of technology they've lined up for it.

I don't personally think there'll be a 'winner' per se in the coming conflicts, except if you consider the gamers as the potential victors with so many different consoles to play with. But if I were forced to make a choice on the matter, I'd say that Sony will end up in first place, with Nintendo close behind them. The Gamecube will resurrect Nintendo from the slump they were in with the difficulties present in the N64, but it won't be enough to topple the PS2, even if it is technically superior.

But I'm thus far loving Nintendo's philosophy behind the Gamecube, especially the manner in which they've designed it for ease of game development. That's an exceptionally good sign to anyone who's not a total nutcase. I'll tell you what will hurt it though, and that's if Nintendo continues to market almost exclusively to children. Games like Perfect Dark, MGS 2, Final Fantasy X, and things of this nature, they'll help the Gamecube, but Nintendo HAS to back them up with other adult-oriented games, specifically ones with online capabilities. May I suggest possibly getting with Sierra and porting Tribes 2 over? Beyond that, they need to make original games that will appeal to adults.

In the end your right but there's no harm in trying to stand up for sony although I would never win the argument backing up the tired out old ps2.
Well done Dringo

So your telling me if the release another 50 sequals they might win? lol

Sadly though it looks as if Nintendo are getting these sequals (Tekken and MGS2) but with Playstations sequals and Nintendo's origonality i'm betting that the greatest game company Nintendo will win.

Maybe so, but its not like the ps2 is that bad . With games like metal gear solid 2 and final fantasy 10 sony may win the great console war....

The PS3 seems like a very stupid move it was the only flaw in the PS/PS2 case many of my friends have been saying around 2 years befor the PS2 release should i get a PS or wait for the PS2 as i dont know when it is to come out you see Nintendo give a brief mention of the time period it might come out in so people don't feel like they have to wait have Sony done it again...

Is this a desperation move

Why don't they create something more origonal instead of a console with more of those rubbish emotion chips jammed in and i bet they'll have the same controller.

What makes Ninty and Sega so good they try and make a completley new gaming experience each time you get a new console by completley cahnging the insides and a completley new gaming controller for new feeling to the new games.

Come on Sony just upgrading graphics won't change the gameplay of thew game BE ORIGONAL we want something new which is why i believe more origonal companys like Nintendo will end up at the top of the market eventually.

Nintendo of America said it might cost around $150 so expect it to be £150 over here. Also Did you know sony said that by the release of the X-box and Gamecube they'll reduce the PS2 by £50 so it'll still cos £250 in a years time! What a joke!!!!!!!!!

Nintendo won't buy Sega, but expect Sega games on ALL systems.

In the meantime, the Gamecube should cost between £150 and £199. I EXPECT £150.

I think the PS2 won't go far enough. Sony are loosing money on each PS2 sold. People won't pay £300 for it. The GameCube, however, I cannot say whether it'll beat it as I don't know how much it will be etc. Anyway, If Nintendo buy Sega, then the Game Cube will be the best console ever.
