Much as we'd all love to get our girls (or fellas, ladies) Mortal Kombat for Valentines, we must be more romantic about these things.

So, does anyone have any great ideas for Valentines presents?

(Keep 'em sensible, and we all might come away from this better off in the bedroom department...)

Slavey, that's not what I was saying at all.

I'm saying that, to me, giving pointless gifts is nothing short of burning cash, especially if it's done in return for sexual favours that you could otherwise get anyway.

Personally, I'd rather my relationship were based on mutual friendship, respect, affection and love.

any person that buys their girl/fella gifts on valentines day is shallow,
any person that buys their girl/fella gifts at other times of the year is desperate for sex
any person recieving gifts on valentines day is abusing the calender for trinkets
any person recieving gifts any other time of the year is a prostitute.

Can't people buy things because they want to anymore?

I never got any Valentines cards in school, but I didn't care. My birthday is the day after, so I always make up for it.

I agree completely, but I buy things because I want to. Not because I feel I have to. I'm still a student, so the things I do get her are silly little things, I can't afford to keep buying necklaces and earings and stuff all the time.

I know we'd still be together if I didn't get her silly little presents, but I like to, so I do.
