So, does anyone have any great ideas for Valentines presents?
(Keep 'em sensible, and we all might come away from this better off in the bedroom department...)

A good relationship doesnt require gifts. But that doesnt mean that you can't buy them.

Because they love it. Valentines is there for people who don't normally show affection opportunity to do so, and for partners who don't normally get affection opportunity to get some. You don't have to, there is no law, and if your relationship is stable and healthy enough to not bother then don't. But something with a bit of planning and thought can make your partner really happy, and what's wrong weith that?
(And stuff the roots and religious side, because it hasn't been that way since Hallmark got involved.)
If you want to spend your money on meaningless trinkets as a display of affection, fine. But why should I HAVE to buy something on day of the year, for no good reason, other than that the TV, Radio, Internet and any shop I walk past tell me to?
Because of some Catholic Saint who happend to somehow be "the patron saint of lovers"? Please. I'm not with my girlfriend because God is watching over me making us happy - the first one of Ant, Flanders or Hobbo to say anything here is branded a moron - so why should I celebrate it?

No, that's not what I'm saying.
"having all the above doesn't mean that you (can't)/(don't have to) buy your partner gifts."
My apologies, not entirely clearly worded.
