I've seen em going for around £150 for a 14 inch, seems to be the average price. Though you'll get em cheaper on ebay if you can do it that way.

I'd go for a combi - less wires to be pulled out and less space taken up.

Hmmm i am swaying both ways. I do prefer the idea of the combi though a little more. Like you say there cheap and they do kid ones. I think thats what ill go for, then just get a wall bracket and put it at a height they cant mess with it. Ill have to do the disc changes, and tom knows how to work the remotes so there wont be a problem there.

I don't see a problem with combi ones for kids, they're so cheap that if it did break outside of a warranty period then you just get a new one. Plus they tend to do special ones for kids too...

Id personaly go for seperates incase something broke or you wanted to upgrade in the future, but if its just for the kids then go for whatever is cheaper (probably seperates again).

My mum got one last year, a DVD/Video/Tv combo, she thinks it's great and never had any trouble with it.

Not sure if you'd need the video though, she had loads of old tapes ("mums tape ... thornbirds - leave it") so wanted a tape player too.

So yeah I think they're ok :)
