My parents get the Mail (yes, they're that type of people) and I really enjoy reading it. It's hilariously old fashioned, always posting opinion as fact and taking sides in pointless arugments. The last week or so have been almost ENTIRELY devoted to the Blair scandal (which I still don't understand, as I refuse to read about it)

Anyway, today... they said LOTR The Two Towers is one of the greatest films ever made... What's wrong with that, you ask? Well, they also said that about the first LOTR film... and we all know how bad that turned out

Stupid Daily Mail

You needed to read the book to fully enjoy the film and understand it

They talk
They talk about the ring
They talk
They talk about the ring
They leave
They talk
They go somewhere
They talk about the ring
They go somewhere else
They talk
They get in a fight
Semi-half decent sequence with Gandalf supposedly dying
They talk
They get into a half decent fight, Sean Bean (the man) dies
They talk
The End

In three hours, you'd think they could've done more with it than just talk! When it finished, I was actually shocked. "Nothing bloody happened!" I exclaimed... to, um... myself

If I don't see TT at the cinema (doubt I will) then I'll make an effort to see it on DVD, as the big action sequences DO look good. Look better than Fellowship anyway...

I think for the fact that they took a storybuilding and character building book that contained almost no action and turned it into a highly entertaining and magical movie is a magnificent achievement. That the film was incredibly classy and mind-bogglingly re-watchable for a movie of it's length is equally impressive.

It's a great film. Just because it isn't porno doesn't mean it's bad.

The first LOTR is probably the best film ever made.

It was a perfect film for what it was. Not my favorite film of all time, I still would prefer watching Terminator 2.

Still. A funtastic filmio.

I miss the golden days of the '80s. Willow was much better than LOTR
