well first off its huge. No sorry massive. however I have hardly played at it because I haven't had the time to sit down a focus on it as it is very bewildering at first.

I am lost looking for a mine but yet I aint agrivated, as I know their aint a time space to do it in. Its the fact the story is an epic one but yet the overall structure of the game is one that downplays the story. If you get me

Morrowind is shaping up to be my perfect game - it's both quiant and epic at the same time. Brilliant!
I've just collected some herbs for the main cat-dude at the Mage's Guild in Balmora, and I'm still in pursuit of the Dwemer Puzzle Box in the mines.
I'm totally engrossed.

Shops in balmora:

Pawnbroker:
Inside the main entrance (from the bridge that leads to Delagiad), on your left is a house on it's own. Inside is a pawnbroker who'll buy and sell almost anything.

Almost directly opposite him is a trader. Again, he will buy most things.

Other shops in Balmora include two Clothiers, a Bookseller, an Armourer, an Alchemist... look on the doors on the houses to see what they sell. All the shops are the same side of the river.

There are a few individuals in Balmora who will sell other 'intersting' items, too...

It depends what you stole.

I flogged everything I stole in Seyda Neen.

But if it's things like silver ware pots/plates etc. the don't expect a weapons shop to buy them off you.

However, whatever it is you've stolen, you will be able to sell it in Balmora.

Try the pawn shop just opposite and to the left of the main entrance to the mage guild, the clothes shop to the right of that might also buy some other odds and ends.

But..

Did you take any Moon Sugar or Skooma?

Both Moon Sugar and Skoomar are illegal substances, if you carry them on you then traders will refuse to barter with you.

There are some blackmarket people who will buy them (they are worth a lot) ut I don't know where they are. Put them in a safe place, later Cassius will give you some Moon Sugar and tell you where you can sell it.

Hope that helps.

I stole some stuff in the Customs Office, where you start off.

Whereabouts in Balmora can I sell them? I really need some cash you see...

I'm a member of the thieves guild (only just joined) but the bloke who you speak to when you join said he won't help me because I'm not at a high enough level :-(

Yes.

Only take essentials with you, there are a lot of Dwemer artifacts you can sell for good money, but they are heavy.

You might want to get one of those scrolls, Divine Intervention or the other one, the ones that teleport you back to either the temple or some other place. Then you can grab loads and loads of heavy, expensive stuff, teleport back to the temple in Balmora, drop half of it on the floor, sell the rest, then go back to the temple to pick up the rest.

Remeber, you don't have to be a magic user to use scrolls.

Secondly, fully prepare yourself to die a lot, swear a lot and get very annoyed :D

Thirdly...nah, I'm not gonna tell you. You can suffer like I did :D

After you've (probably) spent ages wandering around looking for it, getting into tough fights with robots and ghosts, I'll give you a hint :D

I'm about to embark in pursuit of this puzzle box. Any tips before I begin?

Nevermind.

I looked in the readme and found the web address for it:

http://www.m0use.net/~uesp/ [SPACE] file.shtml?morrow/files/mim_low.zip

Heh, you'll be in for a bit of a shock when you open the drop down list and discovere theres about 500 places :D

You really should all get it. It shows the stilt strider routes, ship routes, where you can teleport from and where you can teleport to etc. It's fantastic.
