i'm a big fan of britney spears she writes some excellent songs and each song is such variable range. A good example of a well written song she did was "i love rock and roll" basically if you haven't heard it it's like a hardcore rock music song and it's really quite heavy i think that even hardcore thrash metal bands such as sum41 and the strokes will be proud of. And because this song was such a landmark for modern music you can imagine my disgust when it only reached number 10 in the UK chart i mean what has happened to music?? her new album looks really good as well she has such a great voice and she writes all of her own song she is obviously the most talented singer ever, i mean everyone goes on about bands like the beatles and even led zepplin, but what have they changed in music they have done nothing to innovate the music world unlike britney who is so original and unique. what are your views?

It's so boring, after a couple of choruses and verses it just repeats over and over again. After hearing it once, I never wanted to hear it again, which of course I did to my dismay.

The only reason I watch Britney videos is to mute them and just watch, I have to say :-D at least it gets a reaction from somewhere.

Its a cover version of a song from 1982 by Joan Jett! Its a classic.

Also, Sum41 and the Strokes aren't hardcore thrash metal, far from it, they're so far from it in fact, that they are good.

Another question, what exactly has SHE done to revolutionise music?
She's maybe written three of her own songs, if that, and seriosly, I hate it when someone who uses all sorts of poppy electronic beats and sounds suddenly comes out with a track like 'I love rock and roll' which isn't exactly the best of it's kind anyway, just to try and break the other part of the market. She just shouldn't bother.

You said she writes 'all' her own music, not strictly true that....
Her first album was essentially written for her with the inclusion of 1 cover song (the beat goes on). Her second album whilst she had more creative control over song writing again as far as I know the tracks aren't all hers... 'satisfaction' being a rolling stones cover and 'Don't let me be the last to know' having been written by Shania Twain.
I don't know about the songs on her third album other than 'I love rock and roll' was a cover version of a song done for her movie and then released.
So Britney whilst she does try to change the sound and feel of her tracks for release I wouldn't say that she has a revolutionary sound.

I Love Rock and Roll was written in by J. Hooker and A. Merrill First released by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts in 1982. It is a classic rock song, it was even sampled by Five a few years ago.
