Now.
with that stupid quote from the bbc
would a lot of young people get themselves into tens of thousands of pounds of debt for a holiday or car if it meant they would be financially screwed for more than 3 years then pay it off?
something else that winds me up about the system...
why as a final year student do I get a much smaller loan than I have had in previous years?.... I've looked at all my expenses and as far as I can see they are th same as all my previous 3 years
back on topic..
I think blair and co are quite happy at pushing ahead with top up fees as it means that they can buy their offspring into cambridge and oxford judgeing by some of the reports I've seen where only the wealthy will be able to afford to go to the top universitys.

Yup, the amount of people who have said to me. I hate students. All you do is sit around all day while we pay our taxes to support you.
Grrrrrrrrrr

They're not hypocrites, because the money does have to come from somewhere. And it'll come from 1 of 3 places:
1. The Student (top up fees)
2. The general public (higher taxes - which you've also complained about. Quite ironic considering you don't actually pay any yet..)
3. The business sector - Businesses can sponsor students, or courses, so they get first pick of the newly graduated.
I wonder how many Labour MPs are sitting their with a free degree, hypocrites.
"But a holiday or a car are depreciating assets, unlike education which gives you a start in life."

Not anyone i know. Perhaps they interviewed idiots.
But, at the age 18,19,20 etc, they don't have that kind of money. They have less money than people of the same age who aren't at university.
