Sure, my Spurs would probably have lost anyway today, but that terrible decision gave Spurs no chance. Mike Riley has done this before. Sendings off ruining matches, someone shoot him with a shotgun, or sack him at least.

This is something that I agree with, it sucks I know - but we have to live with it.

Forget the King incident - I haven't seen it, so I can't pass my own comments. I'm not saying whether that was intentional or not, and frankly, I don't care.

It is claimed that Bergkamp's stamp was intentional, and he is under investigation. If it was, then fair enough, but he even plans to call Johansson to speak in his defence, so strong is his denial of any intent.

What annoys me is yet more inconsistency from the FA. This and the Ljungberg/Nistelrooy incident are practically identical - the ref's missed both incidents, and the TV cameras caught it. Yet while Bergkamp undergoes trial by video, nothing ever happened about Van Nistelrooy.

Similarly, three or four players (the latest being Spurs' Davies) have had unjustified yellow cards overturned, striking a sending-off from their records. Yet when Arsenal wanted the same for Vieira a short time ago, the FA said that individual yellow cards could not be overturned - only straight reds!

And people wonder why Gooners feel hard done by!

We can talk forever about incidents in the past that werent picked up on, diving, punches, headbuts - whatever it maybe, the Refs miss incidents sometimes and the FA are also biased at times - but the fact of the matter remains - the two that have been seen has incidents are not classed the same - that Bergkamp intented intentionally to stamp and King didn't, yet it's being blown right out of propotion and both will probabaly be fined and banned for the same reason - which is a load of BS in my book. You try and watch the incident, they are constantly showing it a lot on Sky sports news channel at the moment.

Regardless, Ljungberg has missed games, while Johansson has not.

And if you want to mention intent, I'll remind you of Van Nistelrooy's punch to Ljungberg's stomach at OT last season, which was conveniently ignored by the FA, despite clearly being seen on TV.

The FA weren't so quick to fall back on video evidence then!

Well this is the media making a mountain out of a mole hill, it was clearly accidental - ive seen the incident on tele and I believe it was and its not being consistant because Bergkamps was intentional not accidental, thats not consistancy in my book by a long shot.

And now, also from TeamTalk.com...

FA to investigate King 'stamp'
The Football Association has announced that it will investigate Arsenal's claims that Ledley King stamped on Freddie Ljungberg.

The incident occurred in last Saturday's north London derby, and comes after Ljungberg questioned the validity of the challenge that left him with a nasty knee injury.

King brought the ball out of defence and was forced to hurdle a tackle from Ljungberg before landing heavily on the Sweden international, who missed his country's friendly with the Czech Republic as a result of the swollen knee.

Despite Glenn Hoddle's claims that the clash was accidental, and the fact referee Mike Riley took no action at the time, the FA has decided to investigate the incident.

That will no doubt appease disgruntled Arsenal fans somewhat, as Dennis Bergkamp is being looked into for a similar 'stamp' on Blackburn's Nils Eric Johansson and club supporters have called for consistency from the FA.

Some air of consistency, at least - regardless of the outcome.

For a start Mike Riley should be put back into the Nationwide League as punishment. He came up the ranks too quickly, and so should go back to basics and start over again.

It was on last night on ITV where they analyse all the weekend's matches around 12.30am ish, they showed the full incident - if you get a chance to see it - it wasnt malicious at all Ledley king had his eyes on the ball all the time and they way they both went for the ball, ljungberg ended up on the ball and king tried to jump over him - but it was inevitable that he would make contact with ljunberg unless of course he was a kangeroo!

Not really. We'd have beaten them if they'd had 15 men on the field. We even had two perfectly good goals disallowed - should have been 5-0!

How did he "dive" when you clearly saw on The Premiership that he *didn't even go to ground*? He jumped out of the way, landed on his feet and carried on playing.

Neither Hoddle nor Davies have blamed Cole in any way - it was simply more dubious refereeing. Even if Riley did deem it a foul (which it wasn't), he *should* have played advantage - which he appeared to do, before stopping play and booking Davies.

This incident has nothing *at all* to do with Cole's reaction, because there was none. This *only* has to do with an incompetent referee.

And how do you know it wasn't malicious? Where have you seen it? I watched The Premiership highlights of the game on Saturday night, and they didn't even show the incident. In fact, I wasn't even aware of it until I read yesterday about Freddie's injury and how it occurred!
