What were those sonic barriers keeping out? A big fence would have been more effective. Maybe it was to keep the polar bears out.

I suppose it was strangely disturbing for Lost. Death I can handle, but someone being buried alive is a bit creepy.
That was like something from Tales From The Crypt. As self-contained episodes go that was a pretty good one, very dark ending though.

Its wasn't pre-recorded, they got old cast members back just for that episode.
I thought it was pretty good but it didn't add much to the story. I never liked Paulo and Nikki randomly appearing at the start of this season, but the producers had said that there would be an episode towards the end that would make sense unless you knew them already. Granted, it explained why he went to the toilet and showed a few bits about the others such as Ben in the hatch, but it was pretty much a self contained story.
I was expecting some kind of flashback to show that they had actually been a major influence from early on without us realising. For example, in season two during the episode "the other 48 days" where we see what happened to the survivors from the tail end of the plane, we discovered that when Boone (in season 1) used the radio in the small plane and was talking to someone claiming to be the survivors of flight 815, he was actually talking to the tail end survivors. For a while we were left to speculate on who was on the other end of the radio, but it wasn't until that episode that we knew for sure. I was expecting something similar with Nikki and Paulo, but other than the "toilet incident" there was nothing.

Did you enjoy the episode? So that's why he used the toilet. We all knew we'd find out sooner or later. Wonder why they didnt tell the rest about the plane and this video room.
Was most of this pre-recorded or did they just bring all these old cast members back? Well 2 more of them are gone now. Were they buried alive aswell? She opened her eyes but I guess she couldnt move the rest of her body so I guess Sawyer and Hugo are the murders afterall :P
Ben and whatshername using the video room to check the cams in the hatch. What was that about Locke and getting him to bring them? I thought it was Michael. :S
Now that they have a walkie talkie do you think they can listen in on what the others are doing?

I wonder if we'll ever find out why Libby was in the nut house and why she went to Australia. It feels like she was killed off too early.
