Basically, 'twas my mate Seb's 19th, so we went down to Megabowl (bowling alley, just happens to be close by)

Played a few games, had a few beers. Seb and my mate Wal had been drinking all day, so they were mortal. They stole two pins and hid them outside. As we left, they picked them up and started hitting stuff with them in the car park. A staff member saw us as we left, and phoned the police.

As we walked home, Wal and my mate Fos smashed a bus shelter (hit the glass) and some guy chased after us, claiming we'd hit his car. Almost got into a scuffle with him, before we left because the police were on their way. Went to mine, drank some water, talked to my dad. Wal wanted to go back to where the guy had tried to hit us so we could get the pin (fingerprint evidence, don't you know) but it wasn't there. What was there, however, was a bussie car, and we were asked to sit in the back.

Wal and I were arrested on suspicion of theft and criminal damage, and we were driven 9 miles to a bussie station. I was searched and had my stuff taken from me, including my belt and trainers (so I couldn't hang myself) I claimed the right to have a solicitor, to make sure I didn't get pooped on since I'd never been in that position before. Got put in the cell at about half 12, and at about 2am the solicitor came and asked me some questions, told me the procedure. Got stuck back in the cell, then at about 4am I was interviewed. I denied all knowledge of seeing any pins, or seeing anything get smashed. At about half 4 they gave me my stuff back, and I was bailed and waited in the reception for my mate Wal. At about 5 he got out, and we were given a lift home. Didn't get home till 6am, where I slept for two hours before I had to get up to get ready for college, grr.

Basically, I'm totally innocent of everything, as it was my friends who stole the pins and hit stuff with them, but I can't prove that, so I'm kind of stuck. They knew we were lying about not knowing about any pins that had been stolen, and one of them told Wal if someone admitted to stealing the pins, someone else admitted to hitting the bus shelter, and someone else admitted to hitting the car (even though no-one did) then those people could get off with a caution. So, Seb's claiming he stole the pins, Wal's claiming he hit the bus shelter, and Fos is claiming he hit the car. So, hopefully, they'll just get cautions, and we'll all get away with it (not that I did anything anyway, except be there) If that doesn't work, then I'll end up in court over something I didn't do, and have a fine as well as a criminal record. Great (!)

Yeah, we're scumbags, I know, but it's not like my mates do this sort of thing on a regular basis, heh

Principles and morals are admittedly lowered under the influence of alcohol, but never to the state where someone would commit a crime. If someone did commit a crime then it would be largely their attitude that did it, not the alcohol. You shouldn't be proud to have friends like that.

You obviously don't have much of a social life if

You must be getting desperate, you're letting insults slip into the argument. :-)

That doesn't really say a lot for you as a person does it Mojo?
You would protect your friend EVEN IF THEY KILLED SOMEONE?????
Your reputation is sinking lower and lower into the depths of oblivion pal. Get some morals and then get a life, and then get some decent friends huh!!

People should suffer the consequences of their actions, so no, I wouldn't lie for them. If you are taught a lesson by the consequences then the chances of a similar incident happening are considerably reduced. You lying for your friends will only make them more ready to commit another crime.

Well then you're a sad, sad person.

What an argument clincher. :-)

My friends aren't vandals. They're not thieves. They're not scumbags. They just had a little too much to drink and got carried away. It can happen to ANYONE. You obviously don't have much of a social life if you've never seen it happen before.

Even the police could see that, that's why they went out of their way to help us out, and it's also why *I* went out of my way to help them out. They're my friends. Bloody hell, one of my mates could probably kill somebody, and I'd still protect them. They'd do the same for me.

Since when has being a good friend and trying to help your mates out been a crime? Do YOU have friends, Little Hobbo? If so, would you not lie for them? No? Well then you're a sad, sad person.

If your friends were innocent then indeed you would have been right to lie for them, but they were vandals for god's sake. Can you really not see that?
Defending the guilty is not a good or proper thing to do. Grow up for goodness sake.

Honesty as in telling your kids father christmas doesn't exist. You must be so proud!!
Besides honesty isn't your abundant quality as proven by this very thread you fool.

> Please, be quiet

Once again rather childish. I have as much right as you to swan about on these forums crowing my views.

So, so it's disgusting that I lied to protect my friends? Well, pardon me, but last time I checked, that was deemed quite a fine act, to risk punishment by the law to keep an eye on your friends. Just because you don't have any friends who would do that for you, doesn't mean you have to get all high and mighty about it.

And how am I being selfish? He moaned at me and insulted me with something I didn't care about. I was honest in saying that I didn't care about it. Last time I checked, honesty isn't selfishness.

Please, be quiet

He automatically took offense to you like I did because you openly admitted your dishonesty, a disgusting thing.
That aside, he merely related a personal experience which shows how hurtful wanton destruction by teen-aged prats can be. It cost him money and time, a lot of both. The least you could do is see how unforgivably selfish you are being and show some compassio0n for those who suffer.
But not the Mojo, he jumps to his feet and tells him to shut up because he doesn't care.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we leave that behind in primary school?

Yes, but he took an attitude with me for nothing. It's like me blaming you because I was attacked while walking home once. They're not related at all.

You would if it was your car. Taking an immature attitude like that will win you no favours with anyone.

A lot of people seem to be missing the point - nobody hit the guy's car. Upon inspection, the bussie we talked to believed us when we said that, but one of us had to admit to it to keep the guy quiet.

So, please, shut the heck up, I really don't care about your car

Smashed a bus shelter. and a car.

People like your mates ssiq me off, and it makes you no better for lying to cover it. What was the point. Having a laugh? ho ho ho.

I had my car done over with a dustbin a while back. The guys got let off too. I got a bill for £900 to have a windscreen, a wing and a bonnet replaced and sprayed. either that or lose my no claims.

I thought it was damn hilarious.
