Superb.
Totally different from the 1st two series.
Tubs & Edward killed in the first minute "Lines and lines and lines"
BAM
No laughter track this time, playing it straight as an arrow.
Loved the various movie nods, the kid from Tim Drum at the funeral was top and the last 2 mins with the "Don't Look Now" pastiche starting with Mickey's painting "bleeding" was superb.
Chuckled at the amount of man-on-man action (even with Steve Pemberton dressed as Pauline, it's still 2 blokes), that'll ruffle a few psyches out there. Wonder if it's to deter the trendy "Oh yah, that show is like, sooo cool man!" since they won the BAFTA?
Shock 'em with homo-erotic sex scenes so they have to pretend they think it's tres trendy?
Next episode in 2 mins on BBC Choice, or next week on BBC2.
Good to have The League of Gentlemen back, darker than before and just as funny.

Thanks for the advise. Armitage Shanks: Entertainment liason.

read a book!

2 reasons really, firstly i find some of the parts amusing, and secondly there is nothing else on at that time anyway.

I seem to remeber hearing somewhere that they were bringing back Dennis Pennis?... though it might have been something I imagined? Since I seem to remember hearing that a second series of Black Books was in the works, and the final series of Space!, though both from strangely non-specific sources, which could easily be more attribuated to alcahole than reality?
Although I gotta admit, I didnt notice the lack of laughter track... I really hate them as a rule, they can ruin a good joke. I only hope the trend continues to other comedies?
Some people (in other threads possibly?) have been talking about the 'new look'/'new style' to the program, but it must be passing me by, since they seem to be using the same formula to me... two soap multi-episode stories... the Dr. and Mikey and Pauline... and one episode tale... the guy who keeps rehersing his funeral... Though I'm probably missing something remarkably obvious? (the updated theme tune perhaps?) ...
I've only seen the first episode (and I'd rather not know about the second) but I wonder if the Dr. story is related to the series theme, like the special stuff or series2?

I can't help but feel that Edwards and Tubbs had been pretty much done by the end of the second series... Although I'm sure the LOG writers could have created a new direction for them, it would be hard not to have them end up repeating what they had already done before?

If you don't find it funny... why watch?

Paul Kaye and the woman from Goodness Gracious Me? Yeah I remember it, but I can't remember what it was called.
By the way, I love the doctor in the new series of "The League", as everyone here seems to be calling it......"Now go out would you?". Brilliant.

Fair enough then. Try and watch Coupling before The Office on Monday. It's basically what Friends would be if it was English. With more swearing, which is never bad. Not as funny as the League, but I rate it over The Office.
Anyone remember that show on BBC 2 about that guy in the Office, he does that Liar show now, that show ruled, classic. Can't remember what it was called now though anyone remember?
I'm much more of an Office or Partridge man myself.
