Hi all,

Well , got the PS2 and I have to say - WOW. Never has £300 been so well spent. How that little box can do all this is a mystery to me..

However - I have one little 'problem'.
Borrowed 'Lock Stock' from a friend on DVD and after watching for around 30 seconds noticed the sound had got out of sync with the picture (by about .5 seconds). I assumed it was a problem with the disc.
Paused it, went to get a coffee, came back and unpaused it , and it was all back in sync again. Weird or what ?

So question is , has anyone else noticed this, my friend claims the DVD is fine on his player.

PS - SSX absolutely rocks ! Go and buy it NOW. Right NOW.

I've tried a few sites but all of them say they cannot ship the Monster cable to addresses outside the US. I've emailed a Monster supplier in this country but as yet I've had no response.

I'll post further info if I get any.

don't know, Chilled, I had the same problem with my local EB......and the Sony Centre couldn't help either!

But I'm trying to get a Monster Cables Gamelink 300 shipped from the US.

This cable is a ps2 S-video cable with gold connectors and decent oxygen-free wire, etc....oh, and it's ten feet long so I can position my little black box anywhere I like.....

Can anyone help on this one? how do I get this cable into the UK??

Maybe we should organise a Bulk order for those of us who aren't happy with Composite.......

Just wondering. I have looked inside loads of Shops, including the big ones like Virgin Megastores, EB and Game, but neither of these have the S-Video Cable. I just wondered if there is any shops, or anywhere Online that I could purchase this cable???

I noticed this lip-synch problem with 'lock stock' on my pc dvd player, It could be the software dvd decoding, but more likely the disc.

I can see why there is a fuss.
If you run your dedicated scart connection from a playstation the output is noticeably better.

It's no great hardship, just means I have to (temporarily until I get a PS2 one) change the leads according to whether I am DVDing or playing.
Try it. You will not think your composite output is 'fine' for long....

I was more concerned about the out-of-sync DVD sound as per the original message. Just curious if anyone else had this.

Daily Radar has a story on the green DVD phenomenon. Type this into your address line:

I personally dont see what all the fuss is about. I think that the games and DVD's look fine through the Composite Scart connection.

Fantavision has frozen on me about 3 times now. Always withing the first few seconds of a game.

Rebooting is the only solution. I think we have a bug....

I guess I've got used to the superior quality of my PS1 RGB cable, particularly as I'm playing on a 28" widescreen tv; it tends to show up any interference; using the supplied cable, text in particular is a bit fuzzy. the rgb cable is absolutely crystal clear. But I think one of my SCART sockets is S-Video compatible so I'll have to try that out when Sony can be arsed to release the S-video cable.

I wonder if anyone knows a solution to this. I hired the game: Fantavision. I played the first time, and it got stuck on the 3rd level. The second time I got good, and at the end of the 6th level it just froze! Does anyone know why this happened, or if there is a solution to this!?

Lip-synch is a common problem even with some dedicated DVD players, particularly cheaper models. Also, I *think* there was a problem with a batch of Lock Stock discs - I seem to recall reading about it in a DVD mag some time ago.

Over the years I've become very jaded after many bad experiences with customer services, you have bucked the trend. Polite and efficient from the Freeola team, well done to all involved.
