Just saw this at Planet Xbox:
It’s the announcement we all knew would come at X02, European Xbox Live details. Announced this morning in a press release, Microsoft announced first and foremost that Telewest Broadband had joined forces with them as a broadband network provider for the European launch of Xbox Live. In addition to the team-up announcement, it was revealed that Xbox Live beta testing for the region will include 3,000 gamers in the UK, France and Germany from October 30th to November 30th. This all comes before the service unrolls itself on March 14th 2003.
When released, Xbox Live will retail for £39.99, and it will include the communicator, necessary software and two free games. Stay with us for more news throughout the day.

TWO free games you say? Excellent. As is the price. Only problem (for some) will be the wait until next March. Seems like it's being released over here a year to the day after the console - Same as in the US.
For me it's good that it's not out for a while. It'll mean I won't be missing out on as much as I can't get broadband 'til I've finished my degree and got my own place.
Wonder what the games are though. US gets a version of Re-Volt. I guess we'll get that and something else. I doubt they'll be two full games though. Maybe just a demo version of Unreal Championship or something as the second game?

Someone said on xbox365.com that eurpoeans games get MotoGP-Online and Whacked as the 2 free games.
MotoGP-the xbox versions is mant to be the best but still, a bit dull.
Whacked-Know very little other then its mant to be some kind of crazy powerstone game.
MS no doubt saving Unreal Champ and PSO as the games you have to buy seperatly as they are the ones people want most.

Well theres still no details on what 2 games we'll be getting yet. Revolt is a big possibility, but what could the other be ? PSO would certainly be welcome. ;-)

Basically it looks like each country will get X-Box Live on the 1 year Anniversary of the consoles release. The U.S gets it in November, Japan in January and us on March 14th.
At least theres tons of games on the way to keep us entertained. ;-)

Wouldn't be surprised if they end up being X-Box Live only. Never know though mate. :-)
