It’s the announcement we all knew would come at X02, European Xbox Live details. Announced this morning in a press release, Microsoft announced first and foremost that Telewest Broadband had joined forces with them as a broadband network provider for the European launch of Xbox Live. In addition to the team-up announcement, it was revealed that Xbox Live beta testing for the region will include 3,000 gamers in the UK, France and Germany from October 30th to November 30th. This all comes before the service unrolls itself on March 14th 2003.
When released, Xbox Live will retail for £39.99, and it will include the communicator, necessary software and two free games. Stay with us for more news throughout the day.

TWO free games you say? Excellent. As is the price. Only problem (for some) will be the wait until next March. Seems like it's being released over here a year to the day after the console - Same as in the US.
For me it's good that it's not out for a while. It'll mean I won't be missing out on as much as I can't get broadband 'til I've finished my degree and got my own place.
Wonder what the games are though. US gets a version of Re-Volt. I guess we'll get that and something else. I doubt they'll be two full games though. Maybe just a demo version of Unreal Championship or something as the second game?
Thoughts?

LOL-me too. First i'm hinting that we need a new PCI really do, this one is 6 years old) then I will try for broadband.
When and If I get it, you all can bet i'll be up for some online action. I was quite a regulaer player of DC quake 3 a while back and that had quite a pull so ultra fast Unreal Champ with voice communicator will probably be so addictive I'll play all day as Savatt says.
Names for clan? Um sorry I'm crap at those kinds of things.
It's much more convinient to have some of your teamates in the same room as you...
Besides, seeing as I play against my brothers almost every day, we'll probably be more "deathmatch trained" than most.
The best thing about online play, is that your opponent can't see when your Sniping crosshair is lined up against their head... ;-)
They always see it in splitscreen mode...
We could always come late into battle as the Special Reserves... ;-D
I'm working on my parents for broadband.
I'll hopefully have it by March, with a connection in my bedroom too.

We'll decide on the name nearer to the time.
