Update:

I've made up with the boyf, although I've told him it will take me a while trust him again. He says thats fair enough.

He says he didn't realise that I wouldn't mind him looking at porn, he thought I would be upset about it.

He also says that he didn't do it behind my back because it was more exciting for him that way. He doesn't know why he did it, but he kept thinking how stupid he was to be doing all the time that he was (???). I am just going to have to deal with the fact that he can't give me any answers.

All this goes to prove to me that men are just idiots.

Anyway, he thought I was going to leave him, so hes pretty greatful that I'm not and I should expect lots of pressies when I get home tonight.

I can understand why you're upset, but I can take a guess at why your boyfriend lied about it.

From what you've said about him, he doesn't sound like an idiot, so I suspect that the immediate 'ohmygod' thought process that went through his brain when you sprung him was:

"oh-uh, caught"
"so what?"
"she'll think you don't find her attractive anymore, and have to resort to online porn to get your rocks off"
"that's not the case, but PANIC!!!!! ENGAGE LIE MODE!"

That's what might have gone through my head in the same situation anyway.
