Well...he it is.

"September 20, 2002 - Last week IGNcube reported that Nintendo had cut its stake in UK-based development studio Rare, and that Rare had inked a deal to become a first-party software house for Microsoft. Today Nintendo made its half of the story totally official.
Earlier this morning Nintendo issued a press release stating that it had cut all development ties with Rare. The firm said it had sold its 49-percent share in the former second-party. Nintendo further explained that the decision reflected a restructuring move and a new partnership philosophy.
"Nintendo had the ability to continue its exclusive relationship with Rare, but in looking at the company's recent track record, it became clear that its value to the future of Nintendo would be limited," said Peter MacDougall, executive vice president, sales and marketing, Nintendo of America. "In other words, we passed on this opportunity for very good business reasons."
The Nintendo release went on to reiterate the fact that Rare software sales accounted for only 9.5-percent of Nintendo sales in fiscal year 2001 and only 1.5-percent in fiscal 2002.
Nintendo stated that it would retain the rights for all original properties including Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong and Star Fox. It made no comment on whether or not Rare would retain the Perfect Dark and Conker's Bad Fur Day licenses.
The company said that game development is ever changing and that the selling of Rare will afford Nintendo more opportunities with other studios. "The disposition of this investment leaves us in a position to become even more aggressive in expanding our development capacity, both internally and externally," MacDougall noted. "Aside from several partnerships already announced over the past year, we are currently in similar talks with several other prospective partners around the world."
Finally, the release noted that though Nintendo's relationship with Rare has come to an end, Nintendo still respects the giant software house. "Although we declined the opportunity to continue our exclusive agreement with Rare, this announcement does not diminish our respect for their work or the past contributions they have made to Nintendo," stated MacDougall.
More as it develops."

I'm not singling you out, its something thats been said by a good number of posters in the Ninty forum.
As for Timesplitters 2 - I wouldn't be so sure about that being a Halo beater either. The first game was definatly overated and I haven't seen anything on this sequel that really makes it stand out as being much better than the first game.

Eh? I said you don't what? I can't be bothered to re-read them all, but I do remember agreeing with you, and saying you don't need to buy RE 1-3 again if you had them on the PSOne.
Rare

Well thats not entirely true is it. After Donkey Kong Arcade Nintendo didn't make any more game starring DK.

When I hear it myself, I'll believe it, but really, I don't care. Rare didn't make Donkey Kong what it is today either, that's bull.

1. That would never happen.
2. You are just wrecklessly assuming what we would think.
3. Nintendo will be Nintendo. Rare aren't the same anymore.

I've always said I'm reserving my judgement about Rare until I see a game they've made on their own. I've not once deemed Perfect Dark Zero a Halo beater, though Timesplitters 2 (made by the original Rare) will almost certainly beat it.
Excellent.
Honest I did...no really I'm not lieing cause they left Nintendo and I'm jealous...no really

"Nintendo has said that it has sold its 49 percent interest in Rare--developer of games based on popular Nintendo franchises such as Donkey Kong--but declined to name the buyer or price.
But Peter MacDougall, executive vice president at Nintendo of America, confirmed to CNET News.com that the sale was part of Rare's acquisition by Microsoft, which now owns Nintendo's 49 percent stake and Rare's majority share.
"The entire company has been sold to Microsoft," he said.
Microsoft has not announced the Rare purchase, and a company representative declined to comment on the deal. The acquisition has been the subject of numerous reports, estimating the buy at anywhere from $400 million to $540 million.
Schelley Olhava, an analyst for research firm IDC, said the type of family-friendly games Rare creates are exactly what Microsoft needs to broaden the appeal of the Xbox beyond hardcore gamers.
"They need to get into the mass market," she said. "Rare has a reputation for developing very solid, high-quality franchises, something that's been really lacking for the Xbox...Rare is very good at developing characters; they made Donkey Kong what it is today."
Well Maverick, there you have it.
I agree that Rare will broaden the types of games on Xbox but I REALLY want(and you do too)is Perfect Dark on XBoxLive.
